One Thing You Must Do To Be Successful: Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija Shares Insights by PrimeAfricans: 11:55am On Mar 14, 2017
One thing you must do to be successful in any task you wish to accomplish lies in your understanding and implementation of the statement below:

It’s essential to draw up a “things to do” list on a daily basis and set priorities in executing them, making sure that any unfinished task get posted to the next day’s list. – Folorunsho Alakija.

One of the most difficult things we find very hard to do is to make a daily plan and follow it through.

This is why I’m particularly excited with this quote because it points out an essential factor to achieving maximum productivity in all areas of life including academics, entrepreneurship, religion career and any other goal one may intend to achieve.

This quote was stated by Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija whose life and career proves the unbeatable truth that stating your plans clearly and visibly is essential to achieving success.

WHO IS FOLORUNSHO ALAKIJA?

Folorunsho Alakija is one of the richest African women and also one of the richest black women in the world with Net worth of US$2.1 billion according to Forbes as of 2015.She is a Nigerian business tycoon involved in the fashion, oil and printing industries. She is the group managing director of The Rose of Sharon Group comprising of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited and Digital Reality Prints Limited and the executive vice-chairman of Famfa Oil Limited.

She is the first female Chancellor (Osun State University) in Nigeria and currently, she serves as the Chief Matron of Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs.

ACHIEVEMENTS

She was:

As of 2014, the 96th most powerful woman in the world according to Forbes.
The richest woman of African descent in the world, unseating Oprah Winfrey who held that position as of then.
In May 2015 87th on the list among the world’s 100 most powerful women according to Forbes.
As of 2015, she was listed as the second most powerful woman in Africa, after Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

PHILANTHROPY

As evidence of her patriotism and generosity, this dynamic lady established a foundation called the Rose of Sharon Foundation that helps widows and orphans by empowering them through scholarships and business grants.
It is also interesting to note that one of the most reliable scholarship scheme in Nigeria with over a thousand people yearly as beneficiaries; the Agbami medical and engineering scholarship scheme is majorly sponsored by her company.

Having read her biography, you may be tempted to conclude that she made all these achievements because she was from a successful background.

Oh! How wrong that would be. I can’t even begin to enumerate the numerous billionaires who had very poor backgrounds.

The rules of wealth and success answer to ANYONE who respects and applies it and ‘GOAL SETTING’ is one of those rules.

Whether short term goals or long term, goal setting is very important because:

A dream written down with a date becomes a GOAL.

A goal broken down into steps becomes a PLAN.

A plan backed up by ACTION makes your dreams come true.
