The Management of Covenant University has implored the proprietor and management of Perez University College, Ghana, on the imperative of being focused, creative and assertive as they move to reposition the institution.
Speaking on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, when a team from Perez University College paid a courtesy call on the CU Management, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero, said that the focus of Covenant University since inception is to produce men and women who will change their generations through unparalleled ingenuity, creativity and purposeful living and great capacity to face and manage challenges.
By remaining focused on its Vision, which is “to be a leading World-Class Christian Mission University, committed to raising a new generation of leaders in all fields of Human endeavor”, Covenant University, said the Vice-Chancellor, has continued to make giant strides. He, therefore, advised the team from Perez University College to identify their mission and vision, be committed to it and ignore distractions.
The three-man Perez University College team, comprised of its Chancellor, Presiding Bishop Charles Agyinasare; Rector, Professor J.D Owusu-Sekyere; and Executive Secretary to the Presiding Bishop, Rev. Cornelius Akabutu, were in Covenant University on a fact-finding mission with a view to repositioning Perez University, which had just been acquired by the Presiding Bishop.
Presiding Bishop Charles Agyinasare, who intends to convert Perez University to a faith-based institution, marveled at the tremendous progress Covenant University has made in the space of 15 years of its existence in terms of infrastructure and facilities, equipment, quality of students and faculty and international profile.
And speaking intermittently, both the Presiding Bishop and his Executive Secretary sought to know how Covenant University has been able to succeed running a faith-based institution, getting students and staff to comply with rules, provision of accommodation, and sources of funding for the University among others.
Responding, the CU Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero, said that the Vision that birthed the University is too strong and unifying, adding that when a vision is well sold from the beginning, the easier it becomes to imbibe. He attributed the University’s success to keeping faith with the vision, funding and endowment by the proprietor base and commitment of the workforce.
In her comments, the CU Registrar, Mrs. Mary Aboyade, said that discipline had become a big issue in the society when Covenant University was about to be established. She said that the coming of the University was to intervene by stemming the tide of the decadence.
“Now, we don’t look for students, they look for us. Strength of Covenant University is based on strong foundation and commitment of stakeholders,” she said.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shalom Chinedu; Dean, College of Business and Social Sciences, Professor Francis Iyoha; and Dean, College of Science and Technology, Professor Nicholas Omoregbe, also took turns to give words of encouragement and inspiration to the Perez University College team.
Presiding Bishop Agyinasare, on behalf of the delegation from Ghana, expressed gratitude to the CU Management for choosing share its knowledge, while promising that Perez University College will make good use of the lessons learnt.

Sorry, I don't believe CU ever understudied Babcock. At least CU never added that to their own history. Babcock got its licence just a bit earlier than CU. And at that time no Nigerian private university was good enough to mentor another private universities...NUC in its own wisdom would usually tag a private university with a federal uni for the first three years of the university so I don't see any reason why CU would go there to understudy their organizational structure since they were also new. However, I could be wrong as CU and BU share a whole lot in common that could have necessitated an understudy from CU. But from what I know CU understudied Oral Roberts university(spiritually) and the nine ivy leagues(Academia, Organizational structure). Currently CU is also understudying numerous universities and that is good.

Oga kip kwiet. I was a live witness. This was before the era of globacom. Never say what you don't know.
The fact that BU just newly converted to a university then didn't mean they were new in the business. Study to show thyself approved. Bye.

I wonder why it's hard for Nigerian youths to engage in a conversation without ending it all up in insults. You shouldn't need a person to validate ur stance on a matter to make you feel better about life. If my initial post which only conveyed skepticism of your claim and was in no way belligerant could set you off this way then I really wonder what you would say after reading this

@SirWere the guy in my view is been paid by covenant university, can somebody who has a good job not think of doing something with his or life than always posting about c.u, upandan, what's so special about the school self is it because they don't strike, its virtually the same thing that people are taught in public that is taught there after all my brother and sister went there and maybe the way they dress is what distinguishes them from students of other private and public schools if not nothing much.
so statsocial go and get a life and job,you are more than all this things if cu is good it doesn't need your help to make it look good to the outside world

Naturally I don't read garbage post past the first paragraph. But this one is exceptionally stupid i couldn't just pass by. Key words in the Article includes 'Ghana' and 'CU'. No one here intended to compare CU with any Nigerian public university and neither was such comparism ever made but a latte sipping idiot like yourself will still come here and talk crap. And no one asked you if your ancestors went to CU or not, so no need for unsolicited stories...

Yes I post about universities in general because i'm involved in the education sector. Be it ABUAD, LMU, BU, Unilag I've posted stories about these universities. So if you don't want to read about universities then probably you should visit the romance section of nairaland....
