This was sent to me by a friend this morning.

I no like this Apongbon wey we wan pass o!" were the utterances of Henry as they (Henry and Wilfred) prepared to go home. However, these earthlings fell to the temptation of the bridge which seamed as clear as daylight.

The dynamic duo were joined by Taiwo and the terrific trio accelerated down the Apongbon bridge, only to be disappointed by the blaring red lights of cars stuck in traffic. Willy negotiated towards the left lane and "behold", two "okadas" , each with a rider and a passenger, were parked, a few metres behind the cars in traffic.

One of the passengers rushed towards our car, hands reaching for his pistol, just under his shirt. Willy swerved the car towards him to and this "man of the underworld" (who was about to embark on his sinister act) jumped out of the way to avoid what would have been a welcome collision. We (Willy, Taiwo and I) cruised into the traffic Jam and realised that we were now in a fix as there were was no way forward to execute an escape.

One robber ran into the jam and harassed cars parked on the right lane; another came to a taxi in the middle lane, adjacent to our car, and pulled the trigger, to which all hearts skipped 5 beats after the loud bang.

Then the Lord charged Taiwo's spirit who told Willy, "reverse the car now, reverse, ". At that moment, we relived the scenes of our ever loved "James Bond" movies.

Willy threw the car into a crazy, frenzy mode of reverse, rammed into the door of a Honda car behind, climed one of the "okada" used by these men to wreck havoc on innocent, industrious Nigerians (unfortunately, he missed climbing one of the riders of the bike) and crushed it like the way Nigerians crush "biscuit bone". Once the car was clear, he made a daring U-turn on the bridge and drove like a mad, rabid dog against on-coming traffic (Daniel Craig would never have done better). He swerved madly from one end of the bridge to another, avoiding both cars and trucks,

And then it happened, he was going to hit an on-coming "okada" that had two passengers; I was going to be a witness to man-slaughter, but Willy, scaled through the tightest of lanes and made for it,

Even after things seemed to normalise, my guy's adrenaline pump refused to cool down, and it took a million "Willy, cool down, cool down, " before he gradually came out of the shock.

Taking solace in the car park of City Mall, we laughed at the excitement we just encountered (even James Bond does not get this amount of excitement), and would we love to experience this again? "HELL NO!"

We counted our losses, a broken bumper, burst exhaust pipe and a slightly dented boot, and theirs, a completely smashed "okada", and felt we could have added more to theirs if we had knocked down one of these men, but most importantly, we counted our gains, Saved lives (and 3 laptops, not to mention Willy's 30k, phones and other accessories) and WE BLESS AND THANK GOD IMMENSELY FOR IT.

Moral of the story: Please leave as early as U can, Lagos is a dangerous place at night. Avoid notorious routes (e.g. Apongbon). Let us be wise for today, so that we may appreciate tomorrow.

Safe!

Man-eater, shocked hoops, so we still have some Arnold Schwarzzeneger here in Nigeria that can show armed robbers pepper. But you know that is damn risky, I can't advice anybody to embark on James Bond method of escaping a scene of robbery.

Well, I'll count them as lucky people.

Well my advice for them is to play cool with them because if they fall into their hands it won't be like James Bond film that he will manoeuvre his way and escape their trap, this pple will not esitate to do anything wicked.
But due to that fact that they have with them some Laptops and other things that are very expensive, i won't blame their action.

LoverBwoy, I guess if u were in their shoe, u will do more than that abi I lie?

if I the opportunity, I will crush them all and dump their remains in the Police station.

Meanwhile Apongbon bridge yesterday was surrounded by Mobile Police which allowed a free flow of transportation and equally prevented those evils from carrying out their deed. How I wish that place should always be surrounded by Police without collecting #20 from motorist, instead arresting any suspect they find moving in a suspicious way.
