How is it that we can hear the sound of the ball being kicked during televised soccer games, but not any of the chat going on between players n other background communications?

There are over a thousand high frequency micro phones in a football stadium. They are called Shot gun mics. However there are also a set of mics called plant mics which are planted on the surface of certain parts of the pitch.
