I play the drums, and frankly, i can't remember if i ever stood up to give my offering; and no one brings the basket to me.

I think it's the video crew coz those guys hardly leave their camera even when others are falling under annioting,you will always see them standing.am always wondering if they are immune to annioting.

Ushers hardly give. They'll be forming arranging offertory boxes and stuffs like that.

I sincerely hope the OP is not trying to join the said group in church with the highest votes so that he won't be obligated to give as well....

If you have money and you don't give offering, you will be doing yourself a great disfavour.
In my opinion, Sunday school teachers should be the ones to give more because they teach the word of God. So they should be doers of it.
Secondly, it should be the ushers. The giving of others should motivate you to do more for God.
Instrumentalists.. Some of these people are in church for business...some are being paid for performance.

When you give to God, let it not be out of compulsion. Don't give with a grudging heart. Let it be from a willing and cheerful heart. The Lord loves those who give cheerfully.

From experience i have to say it's the singers. Whenever I'm told to sing during offerings, putting my offering is almost impossible. There was a day i was told to back up a lead singer during offering session, while the offering was going on, i left my position to go put my offering, i did it very fast though but i just felt in me that it was wrong. When service closed, my band leader had to call me and tell me that what i actually did wasnt right, so some times when i'm told to sing, i just find any possible way to put the offering before the praise starts cos its more difficult to put offering after. If you are an anglican, you will understand their orderliness. The offering bag will be placed inside the altar and you just can't go entering the altar na.
The sunday school teachers in my church give cos during offering time, they are part of the congregation.
The ushers in my church give cos they'll be the ones directing the congregation to the offering bag while walking behind. So its mostly instrumentalists and singers that hardly give, not necessarily cos they don't have but cos they might not be opportuned to.

Please what is the definition of offering? Are we offering money to the pastors pocket?

those who shout loudest on Nairaland that any progress in the church,''na awa money''! Them dey give sha, drink beer 10k and come church, fold 50 naira take give offering. Na dem
. Some of them attend WINNERs (those just mere church goers) where wether you give or no give, nobody knows or cares

You want them to contribute when at the end of the day they don't actually get paid for the work they doing all in the name of working for God ....

They get paid oooo. Winners and RCCG I'm sure. Or maybe it depends on parish.

Though they don't do offering sometimes due to the nature of their services.

my church (anglican) when it offering time a member of the choir take bag to other choir including instrumentalist nd also an alter boy take to the priest and there is this big bag at the front of the alter the member dance toward it to put theirs and after the ushers as many they are dance also to the bag put their own one of them cary it choir join theirs to d alter gv to the peoples warden nd he pass it to pastor warden and then to the inner chancel(alter) and priest pray everyone cn c
