The problem students face is how they can study for many hours but a greater problem they face is how to remain concentrated when they study for many hours. As a result, I have decide to write this article to help student maintain full concentration while studying.

1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT 

  An environment that is free all sorts of distraction is the perfect place to read. Your reading environment is as important as how often you read. It serves as a catalyst to speed up effective reading.


2. MAKE READING INTERESTING

  The desire to read is maintained when reading is interesting. Nobody wants to be involved in boring activities. How can I make reading interesting is the question that should come to your mind. Easy! I have gathered a list of what you should do to maximize your interest in reading

A. Use effecting reading method:- How do you feel when you understand and remember everything you read? Great right? That is the spirit that boosts your interest in reading and make you want to read more.

B. Find a study partner:- Reading with a friend especially one who is academically better than you helps you to boost your reading interest. It will make you try to catch up with such person. Tell him/her to ask you questions, ask questions on what you don't understand, discuss the topic together and you will be surprised at how long you will read without losing concentration.


3. ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS

  Concentration is the absence of distraction. You can easily be distracted by people around you and your environment. Your environment include your mobile phone, Television e.t.c. Find a way to keep away from them. Avoid checking your social media accounts, switch off your phone and don't read while the Television is on. This helps your brain to focus only on reading.


4. GATHER STUDY MATERIALS

  Keep your study materials such as pen,textbooks,notebooks and flashcards at a very close range. It will prevent you from leaving your reading spot to pick them, therefore ensuring maximum concentration. Before reading commences, think about everything you'll need and make them easily accessible at close distances.


5. MAKE A STUDY PLAN

  By creating a plan, you have just made your body aware of what is ahead of you. This in turn make your brain concentrate on reading. So, set a study plan which should contain what you want to read, how you want to read, where you want to read, when to begin and when to stop reading.


6. BUILD YOURSELF 

  You cannot read for 8hours when you have never read for 2hours. It takes time learn long-term reading. If you read for 1hour before, try to read for 2-3 hours. Once you are used to reading for 2-3hours, increase it to 4-5 hours. This way, you learn how to read for hours without losing concentration.
