Nigerians are always so quick to condemn our Country. Just look at the state of the weather in ''so-called'' developed countries.

2. Flooding in Central Paris (Eiffel Tower in view) June 30, 2017.

3. Flooding in Berlin, Germany. June 30, 2017. 2 deaths
Flooding in Moscow, Russia. 16 deaths

4. Flooding in China. 260,000 displaced.
Flooding in Kyushu, Japan. 30 deaths.

God bless you for this,we are so quick to condemn our own.the so called developed countries witness serious flooding with fatalities and no body even died or declared missing in Lagos.pls let's try and support ourselves,its not that bad.

You're making it sound like it's okay to have people die just because other races are dying under similar circumstances.

this is not a competition between countries to see who gets the most deaths by water. instead, something should be done about it.

In these countries you cite, there are adequate measures for flood control and managing its aftermath. Before the flood, was there warnings from Nigerian weather forecasters and meteorologists advising people to relocate? or rapid response to provide aid and salvage further damages to lives and properties? I have yet to see public enlightenment programs educating people on proper town planning, drainage construction and maintenance, etc. So please flood in America isn't the same as flood in Nigeria. Pre and post-flood response are different!

there is always warning bro, but this is nigeria, we dont care about govt agencies warning on any issues. we see politics in everything and everything in politics.

While there is warning, you totally missed the point. Nigeria's infrastructure is no where standard to combat basic flooding.You cannot compare the hurricane and tornadoes experienced in those countries with what we experience here.

Mind you this is just flooding. It is not caused by any natural disaster. What do you think will happen if one should occur?

lagos flood made some people from one part of the country happy and I was surprised!
just last week I was watching China tv, cgtn .I was surprised what havoc flood caused to Beijing. displaced over five million people ,buildings falling, people were rescued through boats.
such advance city could flooded? so no big deal about lagos.
so my advice to Mr ambode is fix island before next year raining season.

Which one is my type? I never said flooding does not occur elsewhere. The OP should stop using `we dont care about the warnings of government agencies` to cover up the failures of the government.


@The bold, flooding recently occurred in several cities in Nigeria not Lagos alone. What did the government do before and after the flooding to help the affected and probably prevent further occurrences besides sharing funds amongst themselves? That is my point.

I laugh at those who make these ignorant statements. flooding is a natural disaster which is bound to occur anywhere irrespective of how developed it is, Nigerians already have this mentality that everything is bad here, they see every other country as an Eldorado where everything is perfect, while everything here is lopsided.

I get more pissed when even those who so claim to be educated reason so, these things are natural hazards, the phenomenon can actually be managed even with preventive measures, but can't totally be extricated.

Much more sad when people use natural disasters to score tribalistic points.
