A man, described by the police as a ‘rape specialist’, has been arrested in Ibadan for allegedly raping more than 15 girls on two different occasions.

Ms Olabisi Okuwobi, spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, said yesterday that the suspect on January 19 escaped after raping 11 girls at a popular hotel in Ibadan.

She said the suspect was caught a week later at another hotel at Sango, Ibadan, where he allegedly raped four other girls.

Okuwobi said the suspect, after raping the girls, usually carted away their belongings, including trinkets, money, handsets and clothes.

Okuwobi said: "The suspect was always successful with his dastardly act because he always drugged his victims."

She said the suspect on January 19 brought 11 girls from Lagos for a party in Ibadan, adding that it was a ploy to lure them into sex.

The police spokesperson explained that on getting to Ibadan, the suspect lodged the girls at the popular hotel, raped them and later disappeared.

Okuwobi also said the suspect ran out of luck when he was caught a week later in another hotel with four other girls.

He was said to have drugged and raped them while attempting to cart away their belongings.

Okuwobi said the girls were now helping the police in their investigation. [/b]
