A TALE OF TWO WORLD LEADERS, SAME SCENERIO

News One: Flood in Houston, Texas 100,000 Houses submerged:

US President Donald Trump flies in for on-the spot assessment. Relief materials readily available, prayers offered and wide media coverage.

News Two: Flood in Markurdi Benue State : 110,000 people displaced in 24 communities:

Nigerian President Muhamadu Buhari arrives his hometown Daura, Katsina celebrating Muslim holiday, merries and feast on rams. Not even a federal minister has paid a visit, poor media coverage and nothing more.

Now, the only thing we pray is that Cameroon doesn't release water from their dam like they did four years ago otherwise it would go from bad to catastrophic. Worst off, emergency response and resettlement of those affected would leave even fools scratching their heads becausewe have a dumbàss for governor.

Interesting

Our sympathy to your friends and state men.

You labelled your governor "dumb ass".

Called him that because I couldn't find better word. He is far worse than that. He's the worst governor Nigeria has ever seen since 99.

WOW!

Far worse than dumb ass?

You are very angry with him.

Well, your state men can come together and help each other, because the state government would do photo shoot for gallery and just talk without serious implementation.

To be sincere with myself, I don't think Nigeria with be at par with the western countries in my generation, really sad truth. With the Way we treat humanity and respond to "natural" occurrence.

This flooding could have easily been avoided, with proper drainage and dam, God we are so lucky in this Country, no serious natural disaster, no landslide, no earthquake, no hurricane, nothing. Just preventable events.
Americans were preparing for hurricane Harvey, months before it finally hit. Warning were issued, evacuation blue print was designed. Model and simulation were done to determine aftermath. Every thing was planned to the minutest, months before it happened (they even gave it a name before it happened)
Every government agency were on ground, that is how a brilliant and proactive society react to disasters.

I don't even think there is any agency in charge of natural events research and forecastment, and even though it exists equipment and qualified personnel are going to be missing.

I pray we never experience a serious natural disaster in this country, it simply going to be deadly. We are not ready, not even an inch ready.

Hurricane Irma is already been forecasted too and preparation on. That is a sane environment.

And the way people has been contributing emotional and financial support for victims of the hurricane is simply beautiful, Kevin hart raised a gofundme, and over a million dollars has been realized within 3days shocked, the celeb support all over social media and financial has been superb. Even our so called celebrities joined in, to chant "pray for Houston" all over.Am sure all of them are too blind to see this now, smh.

I even trump is in Houston at the moment, am sure after this eye service visit of these wheel barrow governor, that will be it.
Why am I even surprised, when the President of a country goes on medical tourism to another country for over 3 months and the few people that were brave enough to protest were lambasted.

God please help me in Atleast giving my kids the gift of raising them in a sane environment.

Nigerians what a breed we are.

Angom, should Cameroon dare open the dam, the entire Makurdi township will be submerged by water, because some areas which were not affected in the last occurrence are already flooded and this seems to be a threat to Benue People's House it self which is on the hills. This will be attributed not just to the climate change but also to the blockage of water channels and the inability of the government to employ preventive measures to curb this menace. This threat is a call for reawakening else the state will face the impending deluge. For now, Makurdi is not safe!!!

Nigerian bloggers and distortion of facts

The whole US Govt has been able to rescue/airlift 98,000 people in 5 days with the flooding 1000 times greater than Benue.

So where did 110,000 people come from.

Secondly, the photos of Benue being circulated online aren't ALL real. Kogi 2013 flood pictures are now rebranded Benue.

Thirdly, all this PrayForBenue is not the solution. Benue needs 10% prayer, 90% ACTUAL and PHYSICAL ASSISTANCE.

People, not hashtag or prayers need to DONATE cash and kind; VOLUNTEER to go to Benue State (cost N2000 by Bus anywhere in Nigeria) and assist families.

The media (TV and Print) need to go there and report the real reality on ground.

The NASS should demand BailOut Emergency Assistance Funding for Schools, Hospital and Children.

The State Government should go to next FEC meeting and have all the 35 State commit resources to help it.

Our Celebrities should open a GoFundMe account for people to donate for Benue.

And please BLOGGERS. Stop posting fake news. You will make people not take the problem in Benue serious.

Yeah I enjoy it. That shouldn't be of any concern to Kanu's pigs and idiots. They should simply keep licking his urine while I enjoy my own sycophancy.

I bet that isn't too much to ask.
