Severally, Ikeja Disco IKEDC had tried to impose herself as the best Disco in the country. To a certain length, there is justification to their claim just as you know that a one-eyed man can get automatic clearance to become a king somewhere else. In recent time, I had an encounter with their Abule-Taylor branch, and honestly, there is much to be concerned. It is more worrisome when I look at numbers of consumers who on a regular basis fall prey to the act of these pretenders that had littered and pilferage every section of the organization.

WHAT HAPPENED
On the 29th of August 2017. Around 10 am, The field men of IKEDC Abule-Taylor branch visited our compound at 17 Opeyemi street Ijaye and disconnected the transformer. The property has a dedicated transformer for only the compound. The compound also has a prepaid meter in each of the flats in the compound.
On the 30th day of August 2017, (the second day of the disconnection), we were in their office at Abule-Taylor to know the offense. We were privileged to meet one Mr. Dosunmu, the undertaking manager who came to tell us that they do not have the record of the transformer in their branch and demanded that we bring the record before reconnection.

QUESTIONS TO PHCN ABULE-TAYLOR

• Abule-Taylor never discovered they do not have the record until last week, after servicing the area for several years?
• The record of the transformer is at their Ikeja office, who is responsible for moving the files from one office to another as appropriate? The consumer?
• Why did Abule-Taylor branch of IKEDC neither contacted, informed, inquired, nor requested for the record before disconnecting the transformer? Are they truly genuine in mind for taking such action?
• Does it mean that consumers can be punished before investigating their wrong doing?
These are the questions that Mr. Dosunmu had refused to respond to up till now. But he insisted that we have to bring the paper which the IKEDC also has a copy in their office.

WHAT WE DID

We have to contact Mr. Amusan the coordinator for the project (he represented PHCN during the installation of the transformer), and we linked the two together. We were relieved that both Mr. Dosumu and Mr. Amusan recognize and acknowledge each other as they promise to resolve the problem.
To Mr. Dosunmu, it does not matter if the transformer is legal or not. It does not matter if the records are available in one of their offices. What matters to him is that we must bring the records. He insisted on this after he was aware that the owner of the property is not in the country at the moment.

Today September 8, 2017, makes it the 11th day, and they have refused to reconnect us.

ANOTHER NEW OFFENSE

The new allegation against us is that “we speak too much English instead of taking doing something after the disconnection. What is that something? “

Earlier before now, their field men had complained bitterly about how the occupant just sidelined them. Individual prepaid meters and a dedicated transformer? That is stinginess according to them.
I also want to say it here that they also have bunches of liars who are ready to twist and frame up innocent people just to swindle them.
They have come up with many irrelevant lies during this time which I will prefer not to mention here. I prefer them to open up a defense and tell the lies. Then we will be waiting to take them.

With this, I have come again to mention to whoever cares to reason with me that the problem of this country is 80 percent the masses not government. Our orientation is so bad that even if the government put things in place, we will twist it, frustrate it just to benefit ourselves at the expense of the masses.

IKEDC had tried to paint herself, communicates to the masses about her readiness to serve, creates the impression that they are interested in just and fairness. I am aware of their brand which they are pushing to gain the acceptance of the people. However, they have not done enough. It happens every day and the consumer's surfer either guilty or not. I must confess that they have a mountain to climb. I advise that they buckle up and work to fight these menace instead of preaching to us about what they are doing.
It is very inhumane on the part of this branch. I also see it as an act of irresponsibility if truly they (Abule-Taylor branch) have the record in their head office at Ikeja, but yet we still have to suffer and get punished for their inadequacies.
