Have been having a issue for a while nw, My whatspp stories auto downloads everytime even without clicking them to view... embarassed

How i knew: I checked my data usage, nd Whatsapp alone racked up 4.6GB Last month, regardless i off auto download in settings,after i switchee off my data, will go to my stories, nd behold all stories hv been loaded sad, its now clicke and view without my data on

I just subs yesterday and Whatsalp alone has racked up to 700mb, just yesterdayto today,
I dont just understand
Anybody with similar issue embarassed
