Mexican telenovela star, Eduardo Yanez on Tuesday slapped a Univision reporter, Paco Fuentez on the red carpet after been asked some personal questions about his son.

In the video which has been circulating online, Paco can be seen asking Eduardo a question about a GoFundMe page his son created to pay for a car he recently crashed.

The topic is understood to be a very sensitive one as Eduardo and his son has a strained relationship after his son accused him on Twitter of being a drug addict, racist and woman abuser.

The reporter asked Eduardo why his son couldn’t simply approach him for the money and the actor immediately warned the reporter to stop.

Responding in Spanish: “If you’re so worried about my son, you send him the money.”

The reporter responds that he’s only doing his job citing that the press is the link between celebrities and the ordinary people.

Eduardo then called Paco a “pure a**” adding: “You’re not the link between anything and stop disrespecting me.”

Paco again explained that he never disrespected him – at this point, Eduardo landed Paco a hot slap � �.

Eduardo who is said to have a history of acting violently towards reporters later apologised via a tweet saying:

“I want to ask a sincere apology to the public and the person affected by my action. It was not correct. My personal life is not for sale.”

Eduardo is now however under criminal investigation after the reporter filed a assault and battery charges against the actor.
