Changing a mobile platform can come with so many intricacies, you deal with leaving your Operating system of familiar operability to surmounting the hassles recreating a similar atmosphere in the new OS. Among myriads of issues to be dealt with, below are steps showcasing how to go about your contacts migration. Remember, This method of contact transfer for windows phones involves transfer from Microsoft online database (not the physical phone) to the android phone.

HOW-TO

1.On the PC or phone, log on to your Microsoft account (Outlook, Live or Hotmail).

2.select "PEOPLE" icon, this should show your contact list.

3.Select "MANAGE" and choose "EXPORT CANTACTS" option.

4.Click "EXPORT" and a dialogue box suggesting you save "contacts.csv" file pops up. save the file.

5.Open a new tab and sign-in to your Gmail account.

6.click on the "GMAIL" dropdown arrow and select contacts.

7.Select "MORE" dropdown menu and click on "IMPORT".

8.Click on "CSV or vCard" file.

9.Select "GO TO OLD VERSION" from the next display.

10.Click on "IMPORT CONTACTS" on the old google page.

11.Browse your downloaded CSV file content and import.

12.On the android phone in Question, enter the google account in >>"Settings" >>"Accounts" before pulling down contact list to refresh under the "Contacts" menu.

NB: if you cannot find any contact in the peoples hub, it means your contacts have not synced yet to the Microsoft account logged onto. in case of multiple accounts, login the account concerned else, create a new account, enter the new account in Windows phone "SETTING" ,wait for contacts to sync automatically and login Microsoft page on a web browser.
