the good thing about the course is that you can work in almost every sector esp. Energy and IT when you finish with good grade.
I will advice you to incorporate IT and software development as personal training. start developing apps by studying different programming languages. another good thing is you can be self sufficient by designing and producing gadgets with microcontroller. Just know what you are doing and be focused. The one you will be taught in school can be enough for you to start-up a company if you are really interested in that field.

NARSDA, Telecom industry,ATM Manager in Banks, Power companies..... etc

Mind you, your certificate alone can't land you the anywhere near the aforementioned jobs, go professional.

My dear, let me advice you sincerely, you can work anywhere as the suggestions above but it will better for you to acquire some IT professional certification like Cisco Networking and security ie CCNA, CCNP, programming language, etc.

The scope of the course is very wide, you can actually fit in so many places but for you to be relevant and competitive in the market you need professional courses.

It depends on the institution, some name the course PHYSICS WITH ELECTRONICS while some call it ELECTRO-PHYSICS.

Actually, it is Physics with Electronics in some tertiary institutions in Nigeria. So she is correct if that is the way her school calls it.

my guy, what we acquire in school is insufficient to land u the work u will like.
Technology is the answer now. if you can locate any IT development center in lagos. join then and improve yourself to become relevant in this 21 century. Anderala( check my spelling) is there. Application is free, they will train u and link u up to IT companies all over the world. wish u all the best.

Advice, Don't look for job, unless you want to be frustrate. Be the job u want. Affect live, and society

From the way you write, you must be a fan of master Yoda of Star Wars..........only a few would understand what I am saying.

You see as a physicist, you can fit any box at all. If you can understand and pass all those laws, the sky is your starting point.
The Civil Service does not discriminate against course of study, if you are fortunate to land a good job at a parastatal.
Then there's the Investment banking, where your analytical skills can be put to good use and excel in this area too.
You can venture into IT also, you may have to take some professional courses though.
If you are good, there's lecturing too, though quite difficult to come by, but anything is posible.
And the almighty Oil & Gas sector is there for you Bro, you have to ace their tests and interviews.

But I must add, this country defies logic at times, apply for scholarships abroad and if you have a shot at leaving, pls do not look back, Run as fast as u can.

Move to IT. Its much more easier especially if you are really into tech. I studied physics and moved to IT when i saw the opportunities were limited.

In addition you can be a Physics tutor, laboratory director in institutions of learning

If only you can find yourself in the UK or USA, people like you are in high demand. Lots of students avoid physics in secondary schools. Companies can Siemens, Toshiba etc can easily employ you. In some countries, you can be trained to be a sonographer without going through the diagnostic radiagraphy route...Money bro, serious money. If only you can find yourself out Naija but with the right documentations.

Why do you find joy talking trash when you know that most physics graduates are being employed in every sector in Nigeria. Go to 10 secondary schools in Nigeria, 95% of their physics teachers studied that engineering.


This was same thing we were told while in school. Today, those that read medicine, law, pharmacy, and the top courses are still looking for a good place to work. While some of us are doing great things with our life.
