Former coach of the Nigeria U17 team Emmanuel Amunike snubbed Eintracht Frankfurt enterprising German-Nigerian left full back Deji-Ousman Beyreuther from his U17 squad of 2015.

Owngoalnigeria.com has in it possession, the text of the letter written by the 18 year old who has broken into the first team of the Bundesliga side and made the bench in their 1-1 draw against Mainz 05 ‎pleading to be given a chance.

However his plea fell on deaf ears as the coach didn’t reply his message as he settled for other players who helped him win the U-17 World Cup in 2015.

Deji-Ousman is still keen on playing for Nigeria particularly as he is a left back, one area where Nigeria are currently shopping for more options as Elderson Echiejile is the only recognised left back available to coach Gernot Rohr.

See text of the letter written in 2015 in next paragraph.

[b]Hello.

My name is Deji Ousman Beyreuther.

I was born in Göttingen and played for Sparta Göttingen. Then i moved to Hannover and played for Tsv pattensen.

My Trainer was Stefan Mertesacker, father of per mertesacker(german national player). Next i moved to Frankfurt because family reasons. Now i play for the Bundesligaclub Fsv Frankfurt. I was born on the 06.09.1999 and play for the u17 squad.

I think its the right time for the national team. My mother Heike Beyreuther is German and my father Lukman Oladimeji is Nigerian.

I would like to participate in the Nigerian national team and not the German because i love the Culture, the passion on the Field and my motivation is my uncle Mohammed Oladimeji Lawal who also played for the national team.

I am actually a defensive middlefielder but play left defender and feel more confident on this Position as i played there this season in which we successfully finished on the 1. place. I weigh 65 kilogram and I am 1,78 tall.

My strong foot is the left one but have almost the same qualities in pass and dribble and skill with the right. My role is as an offensive left defender who supports the offense with dangerous crosses and direct longshots.

In my first season at Fsv Frankfurt i became captain because I give commandos and support my team to lead to success. I follow every match of the golden eaglets and think that my abilities will support this team.

I hope to hear from you soon,

kind regards,

Deji Ousman Beyreuther.

I think the Committee of Sports in the House of Representative & the Senate should invite Emmanuel Amunike to come tell Nigerians why he shunned this guy.

Most times Nigerians abroad love to represent the country but because of the selfish interest of Coaches, they are rejected. Even though Nigeria went on the win the World Cup, we should at least hear from the coach why he didn't deem it fit to even reply the poor by.

There was story of another Nigerian in the US who came and his parents were asked to pay bribe to some NFF members. The parents got so angry and left the country back to the US.

Also, there is the case of Anthony Joshua who was also rejected and now he s the World Champion.

Why does Nigeria reject her own?

I know our coaches are corrupt like so many Nigerians are but one thing I am certain of is talent don't hide. If he is extremely good, sending a lengthy letter or not, your skills will definitely sell you.

Emmanuel Amunike can't be blamed at all for not inviting him, besides he won the tournament. That means he got the right guys for the job.

Rohr should check him out. Elderson Echiejile needs to be replaced asap. Everybody wan go worldcup shacheesycheesy.

A coach can't pick every Tom Dick and Harry that comes calling. He must have his reasons (genuine or not) for not listening to the boy. Even the write-up gave the reason (he settled for other players who helped him win the U-17 World Cup in 2015.)
