I think that it's good that you know exactly what you want to do (To drive a taxi) and why (For a means of daily income). I assume that this is a temporary venture unless you are thinking of expanding further with time.

Here's what I suggest. Don't use the N250k to buy a car, as you probably won't get a decent car which would run problem-free. You wouldn't want to end up looking for money to fix this and that after only 2 months. I think it would be better to you to lease a car for a fixed period - maybe 6 months, 1 year, 2 years. I don't know what the rates are, but I think that this would be possible with at least N200K. If you can't find a car leasing company, you can discuss with a car seller and see if you can come to an agreement over leasing a car, or better still, buying the car and paying installmentally. If you're doing this though, you will need to do your maths and find out how much you will need to set aside everyday in order to meet your second, third, fourth etc installments and stick to it, otherwise the whole thing will fail and you will find yourself at square one, looking for money for the second installment when it becomes due.

Also, where are you located? This should probably have been the first point, but to stay on the right side of the law, you will need to find out if there is any registration license you need to obtain in order to drive passengers commercially. There usually is (at least in Lagos), but I'm not sure.

Daily operations are up to you. Your research would tell you what areas are best suitable for you, and where you can get the best returns.  Have you checked

- Universities? Do students regularly use taxis? How do they get them? Can you do better? Can you get an easy-to-remember phone number (Something like 070123456) and paint it (professionally, of course) on the sides of your car?, so that even when you are driving, someone who might need your services one day could call you to book you when they need you? Can you distribute your business cards  to students to call you to book trips in advance? Usually in communities like that, if you are trustworthy and priceworthy, people will tell their friends about you.

- Have you tried the motorparks? People who are travelling usually have a lot of load to carry, and you can talk with the bus companies and see if you can drop your business cards in the buses in a place where customers can see and pick one if they want. This is so customers travelling early can call you beforehand to pick them up, and drop them at the motorpark on the day they are travelling.

- Other options would be hospitals (people who aren't feeling well, accompanied by other people and don't want to nter an okada. You can ask to leave your card at the reception so that customers can call you if they need you.

- Markets - It's just a matter of going very slowly where people are standing with their load asking "you want taxi?"

There is potential for expansion in the future if you get to the point where you get more jobs than you can manage. You can hire another taxi, get someone to drive it and you two take bookings, and arrange your work according to how many bookings you get.

The rest of the money you can use to print out good quality business cards that look attractive. You can also print flyers, but I think that business cards would be more effective because potential customers can keep them in their wallets/purses for when the time comes, while flyers can just "fly away". You don't have to put down a company or any long story - Just covey the message across:

How are you getting on, sir? Found a car yet? There was someone who was looking for somebody to rent a car to on this thread : https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-512432.0.html

He is selling the car and will be expecting you to pay N140,000 a month until you have paid for it completely.
