lazygal:Extremist like you, i have already seen success in my life and will continue to fly higher, continue cursing and it return back to you hundred fold, typical of muslim person, always agrieved and violent when you confront them with truth. Did Tunisia, Kosovo, Azerbaijan,Niger not ban the wearing of Hijab in their country? Your curses will return back to you 1000 fold. Very soon you will join boko boys or maybe you are with them already. Go and get a life abeg. If I tell you now that fasting during the month of ramadan is not compulsory depending on the circumstances you find yourself you will start screaming and so wearing of hijab is not compulsory according to Koran and can be removed by her to obey the rule of her profession, Allah is all knowing, I can recite koran more than you. |

Farmerforlife:You just exposed your kind of person, and you are calling who narrow minded? First of all you should have checked your dictionary for the meaning of unclothed.... I no sabi insult person, because I brutal, so carry your over-religious believe to your paradise. Later you think people just believe you people are quick to violence. Even if one was in support of her covering her hair, you just ruined it with your abusive finger and mind. Was even thinking, what if a lady is involved in a bad auto-crash that makes her cover her head, won't they bend the rule? But here you are, already carefully exposed your kind of mind. Abeg, carry your extreme religion go paradise |

I wish we could avoid needless controversy like this Catholic sister. Firdausi has her religious rights and so do others. But we might have to be religious neutral in some things like we are gender neutral in others.

victorazyvictor: Do you know God? The rules you are championing are not those Of God. They are those of oyinbo overlords, who themselves now regard them as backward and have ditched them. The same people who gave you the clownish white wig to put on your heads now allow Muslimas to wear their hijabs when called to the bar. It is only those with inferiority complexes that want to out-oyinbo the oyinbos. |

Farmerforlife: That's why you're not a lawyer or in charge of a law firm. I'll go out on a limb and say that you're not even an employer of labour to make such a comment. I own my company and wouldn't ever hire an inflexible religious fundamentalist (of any shade - Muslim, Christian or Juju) to work for us as an employee in any capacity or represent us as our lawyer. If she can act so strongly against her own interests in the name of religion, I wonder what she can do to harm her employer, client or colleagues when the time comes. And if i was a lawyer for her adversary in a case I'll easily defeat her as I know her weakness. God forbid she becomes a judge... God forbid. |
Re: Firdaus Amasa Insulted Those Who Begged Her To Remove Her Hijab - Twitter User by Nobody: 11:57am On Dec 17, 2017 |
davolax: That is a dumb statement. I am not a lawyer because I did not choose to be. As for the rest, it is irrelevant what you believe, as that has nothing to do with the case. Insha Allah, if she retains her strength of conviction, she will end up in a better position than all her detractors, whether they are judges, hungry lawyers or dishwashers. |

Farmerforlife: I knew I wouldn't take you long to start buffering your points with insults to your fellow human and appeals to God. I'll take it as a sign that you have run out of sensible things to say. PS: "Insha Allah" doesn't quite work that way, we also have a responsibility to do our best before invoking God. |

Re: Firdaus Amasa Insulted Those Who Begged Her To Remove Her Hijab - Twitter User by Nobody: 12:24pm On Dec 17, 2017 |
davolax: I can only say that when one runs out of things to say, one will look for insults to blame on his inability to save face. Name the insult I directed at my 'fellow human'. My position is that your assertion that I am not a lawyer today only because I will employ this lady as she is, is a dumb statement. It assumes that I would have been a lawyer if I did not have that mindset. If that is not a dumb statement, I would like to see what is. And 'Insha Allah' is not an invocation to God or a supplication. It is an affirmation that future events are within His control and subject to His will, and it is in this context that I used it. You would have done well to ascertain its real meaning before trying to 'school' me on how it should be used in context. Google translate is just a finger push away. |

This girl is the smartest girl I have ever seen. Do you guys know what she would get out of this situation? See scholarships to study anywhere in the world loading. My God, why I no get this kind sense. Those claiming she wasted six years of her life don't know that she has intelligently fast forwarded her destiny. Jesus. And she can still be called to bar but now it would be with a national or international award for standing by her beliefs. Don't laugh at her, Just watch how everything would work in her favour. From an unknown insignificant person to an internationally acclaimed freedom fighter. Baba, give me wisdom to recognize opportunities such as this when they come my way, amen. |

victorazyvictor: Allah is the Lord and Creator of the whole Universe, including the white man; whether His creatures choose to acknowledge it in this world or be forced to do so on Judgment Day. He is not Lord only of the mosque. Our duty is to obey Him whichever part of the universe we find ourselves in. We can obey man-made rules, but only when these are not in conflict with God's. |
Re: Firdaus Amasa Insulted Those Who Begged Her To Remove Her Hijab - Twitter User by Nobody: 12:38pm On Dec 17, 2017 |
davolax: Your statement was, and I have explained why. There is a difference between describing a person and describing his statement. It is not essential that a person is dumb before his statement is. I have explained what insha Allah means, the why or how is not relevant. You may take it or leave it. In my opinion, I neither whipped up religious sentiment nor insulted anyone. Neither is a trait I engage in. |

Sterope: Only the wretched wear Hijabs! The rich northerners don't! As a matter of fact, what should be permitted is the act of wearing colourful "gele" to the bar, which is our africa culture, not an arabic culture we don't know of. |
Re: Firdaus Amasa Insulted Those Who Begged Her To Remove Her Hijab - Twitter User by eyinjuege: 12:39pm On Dec 17, 2017 |
Dsov2016: Some Arabs don't see the hijab as compulsory. Even in Nigeria, I have muslim friends who will tell you the Koran doesn't make hijab compulsory and they dont cover their hair. Its all a thing of personal conviction. It would be nice if the law school could review their dress code to accomodate everyone. I just saw the picture of a nice looking reverend sister above, who also had to remove her robe and headcover to accomodate her wig for their ceremony. |

Farmerforlife: Na religion fill this one head. Who's to decide allah as a god for a Nigerian? I can choose to be anything as a Nigerian and your Allah don't dictate for me. That said! The act of wearing "gele" should be allowed to bar, not Hijab which is no culture of ours! As simple as abc. |
