I belong to a church that so much believe in church discipline.

When a brethren falls,he/she is placed on church discipline thereby being barred from taking holy communion and/or taking part in church activities for a given period of time..

As a young christian,im confused as to the whole church discipline tingy.. I believe if a christian falls,and he/she admits without force or cajolement of his/her sin(s)..and then repent, God is faithful and just and will forgive and forget all the previous wrongs... If God then will forgive and forget our sins when we repent, is Church discipline then necessary??
