There have been more coups than elections in most African countries since Independence and Ghana has also suffered from coups and only recovered after the socialist ex-military ruler Jerry Rawlings handed over to President John Agyekum Kufuor. And at 50, Ghana has not done badly by African standards if compared to the other countries in West Africa.

In Africa, Angola and Botswana are the shining lights of a New Africa. South Africa is a parody of America.
The poverty and HIV/AIDS plaguing South Africa show us that Thabo Mbeki's government is a disappointment in nation building. And Pa Nelson Mandela was more of a figurative President who was busy dancing the rhumba and samba of his victory over apartheid that he forgot that surviving Robben Island was not the end of his struggle, but the beginning of the real task for the reformation of South Africa.

Nigeria, the so-called "Giant of Africa" is a disgrace to the pride of Africans. Because, as we can see, that the independence of Nigeria in 1960 was premature.

With the outstanding giant strides of Angola, Botswana, and Ghana, we can look forward to the emergence of the "African Lions" as the world saw the emergence of the "Asian Tigers".

Long Live Ghana!

We need to stop with the over glorification of Ghana, they're not any more better than Nigeria. It seems like it's only Nigerians that go all over the place propping Ghana up even more than Nigeria itself. Go here and see what Ghanaians have to say for themselves.
