To be honest, on its own, this isn’t a big deal, but thanks to the obvious rivalry, well:

So, the gist is, a reporter spotted a single reference to the Google Cloud Platform (which Apple has confirmed), buried deep in an IOS 11 document, the reference was published in January and it states that Apple iCloud uses Google Cloud Platform, as well as Amazon Web Service’s S3 storage service, to store encrypted chunks of an iPhone or iPad’s backed-up files, like contacts, calendars, photos, documents, and more.

In other words, iCloud users who back up to iCloud are actually backing up to Amazon and Google’s cloud.

Like I said, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Apple needs a little help from third-party cloud storage firms given the millions of iPhone and iCloud users, but on the rivalry side of things, this is bad news for Apple fanboys who chose the Apple ecosystem because they don’t trust Google.

As for Apple turning to Google for help, all I have to say is this, when it comes to making money:
