BREAKING!!! Atiku Throws Weight Behind OMPAN National Convention (Owerri 2018)

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has officially thrown his weight behind the Conference of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria scheduled to hold between 30th and 31st of March, 2018.



The DG of Atikulated Agenda 2019, Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu (ECK) – a group that is at the forefront of scouting support for candidacy of Alhaji Atiku in the upcoming election contest; has in a phone chat assured OTV News that the Turaki of Adamawa is a lover of freedom and holds as sacrosanct the freedom of the press.

He said that for democracy to run smoothly, there must be freedom of the press which in the only strength of the weak and warns that any attempt by any government at any point in time to chock this inalienable right do not mean well for the people.

“We commend this effort by OMPAN because it will help to educate your members on how to imbibe the culture of professional practices. So this is a step in the right direction, it is commendable”.

He however regret that the notice was so sudden that he cannot outrightly promise OMPAN of physical representation from Atiku Abubakar within such a short notice, but assured that he will do everything to ensure that freedom of the press is upheld as that is one of he cardinal points Alhaji Atiku is determined to project.

“The role of online media practitioners cannot be overemphasized or ignored in a digital era like this one we presently operate in”

Some of the speakers at the Convention include Dr. ACB Agbazuere, Former Commissioner for Information, Abia State; Prince Odunze O. Odunze, Special Assistant to Governor Rochas Okorocha on Media Production; Rt. Hon. Shuaibu Sani, Coordinating Coordinator, Nasarawa Pilot Online Media platform and Peter Jones Ailuorio, publisher of New Sentinel Online News Media Lagos”

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the body, Evangelist Promise Uzoma Okoro said the Association will provide Free Accommodation for every registered Participant at the Convention; Registration is still open and will be closing soon.

This is the maiden edition of this convention and it promises to be one of a kind as all has been put in place to achieve a successful convention.
