He was confirmed dead at 9pm tonite. Saw it on SIlverbird TV too,

Ailing Nigeria leader Umaru Yar'adua is dead. He died today at the Nigerian presidential villa. Sources told Saharareporters that he died round 9:00 PM Nigerian time after prolonged illness believed to be Churg Strauss Syndrome.
The Acting President Goodluck Jonathan will be sowrn in shortly. Yar'adua to be buried tomorrow according to Muslim rites.

Yep, just saw it on Sky news as well. The chap finally had enough of naija wahala. I hope this is the beginnig of good tiding for Nigeria.
