The United States’ President, Donald Trump has called off his first official trip to Latin America to concentrate on the subject of a suspected chemical attack in Syria.

The White House said Trump will remain in Washington to "oversee the American response to Syria."

For now, the global chemical weapons ombudsman has said it will send a team on a fact-finding mission to Douma.

Dozens were killed in the alleged Douma attack, however, the exact numbers could not be ascertained.
