Please don't raise CSE and send school fees receipts and pictures etc. Trust me, as a lawyer those don't matter as far as adoption is concerned. The court judgment and the consent of the joint custodian is enough. Please stop worrying.

TheCanadianDrm:
Thank you so much.

I will raise a CSE. I initially uploaded the proof of custody (Court Judgement), her biological father's death certificate, Her biological mother's voter's ID card attached to a notorised consent she signed.

I will get evidence of school fees we have been paying, HMO id cards, family pictures and anything I can think of. This will be attached in the CSE. I was just worried that won't raising a CSE without been asked sound like I am been on the defensive even when they have not queried me.

God help me. I tire.

I checked the thread and this is what I can deduce from the person's post. The person said this---(none of which lasted more than 10 months) and then this---(but I did have a run of more than 1 year in one type of job). However, the person didn't mention his/her primary NOC. So it is possible that the person's primary NOC is the "one year plus work experience". Yes, one can combine NOC but the issue is the primary NOC must be at least one year continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time... Note the word "continuous".

Anyway, I think you can combine the work experience but there should be no gap between the first job and second job that makes up the one year. The work experience must also be in the same NOC.

Thanks for the feedback GlitteringStar.

This "continuous" wahala sef. Somehow, I thought "continuous" could also mean that an applicant could move from one job to another (with the same NOC even with gaps), with no other job with a different NOC coming in between.

NOC 1111 (Job 1) -->NOC 1111 (Job 2) -->NOC 2222 (Job3) --> NOC 1111 (Job 4) - where NOC 2222 breaks the continuous cycle.

Hello house. Please i just sent an application to my account officer in GTB for the purchase of Tbills for 50% of my POF. The account officer said that an email will be sent once it is completed. Is this what they call TB certificate or will i have to request for another certificate?
Pls I would like to know how this goes. I don't understand the kind of ugly paper access bank gave me as a certificate.

A collection of rejection cases on Nairaland

A collection of rejection cases on Nairaland

Though we don't get many of this (for good reason!), there have been a few cases of rejection here on nairaland. I managed to collect a few. If you are aware of more cases, point them my way and I'll include them here.

At least one person was rejected because CIC erroneously ignored his POF details. The major funds were in his domiciliary account which CIC did not pay attention to. This made them issue him a rejection. He wrote them an email and this was eventually corrected. They issued him PPR shortly after.
Suggestion: Ensure to put together a cover page listing your POF details or breakdown, if you are using more than one sources for POF.

Another person was rejected because he/she "murked up the PCC." The UK Police Report was outdated. "The police report I sent for my time in the UK was dated before I stopped living there and as such my application was thrown out."
Suggestion: Get your POF right.

Someone shared a story of two guys whose applications were rejected for POF-related reasons. Even though these guys met the POF requirement, their lump sum deposits were perhaps frowned at. Note that there is no proof to this story; someone merely shared it.
Suggestion: Perhaps avoid lump sums

Someone also related the story of a couple rejected for FBI PCC even though LOEs were attached. Further investigation revealed LOEs were attached in additional documents placeholder and not under PCC placeholder.

A Nairalander was once rejected because CIC did not see the valid biodata page. Both the expired and valid biodata pages were uploaded. The valid one was probably not spotted by the case officer and this led to outright rejection.
Suggestion: Upload only valid biodata page.

Another person threatened with rejection for POF-related issues. POF incomplete

Someone relates story of a rejection due to wrongly stated family composition. Person "added a child and also the post ITA marriage certificate. the refusal was because from the date of the certificate, the only dependent should have been the spouse, meaning she lied pre ITA about her dependents"

At least one person was rejected for NOC mismatch. "The NOC I based my application on did not have a good match with the employment letter I submitted hence the refusal."

Another was initially refused based on "insufficient funds"

Was going through this post from page 0.and I stumbled on the bolded. Egbami oo shocked

Please oo, my employment letter years ago came in as a geologist but along the line I started working as the executive assistant to the group chairman. Hmmm and that's where I have the experience I will be applying with... My God! What does this mean. Hmmm

Do I need to start talking to HR to write me another employment letter or what? Meanwhile I have used this current employment letter to apply for Canada TRV, tourist visa before o. Please o. What do I do cry cry cry cry

Thank you ysteph. I do appreciate

@happytbaby, yes I uploaded all of that.

Thank you @newmum0615 @Elfmannisback @glitteringstar.

Since I uploaded everything, I will just wait and see. Its almost 6 months Post AOR. LVO people are just blowing breeze on my file. It will end in praise.

Thank you everyone. Thank you

ysteph:
I believe what you need to upload is a certified true copy of the order of the magistrate granting you joint custody as well as the consent form of the joint custodian. Having done that, there shouldn't be a problem. It's just that, IRCC will do a thorough background check to be sure that the consent of the joint custodian is not forged and the death certificate of the father is real. If they do that, you shouldn't have problems with your application.

Raising a CSE to upload school fees receipt, pictures etc won't matter. If and when they ask you can do that. Their only concern is to know if the adoption is legal. Pictures don't show that. School fees receipts don't show that.

The western world take adoption matters very seriously. There have been million of cases of trafficking African kids abroad.

Sometimes, I think requesting for GCMS notes before our application is approved creates unnecessary panic. The comments of the VO doesn't mean your application will not be approved. Allow them do their job. At the end, its possible you're worrying for nothing.

Go to page 2 of your GCMS note and check the next action date. On that day, it will prompt your VO for action, he will either act on it or extend it by another 1 month if he is too busy.

Hi, my contact in unilag said i should request for attestation letter in lieu of certificate but that sounded odd to me because majority of applicants have been using statement of results.
Is it statement of result or letter of attestation ?

For Unilag, WES will accept notification of result. They may not accept statement of result.

Thank you GS for this detailed explanation. God bless your kind heart Sis.
Please I have a major concern about claiming two or more certificate with ACCA 1 year college certificate obtained in 2018 and a four-year Bachelor's degree in Accounting obtained in 2008. Would the 10 year difference between the two certificates raise a red flag since the 1 year Certificate is not an Advanced diploma/certificate?
GlitteringStar:

Yes. According to IRCC, to get points for "two or more certificates", one of the certificates should be a three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree PLUS any of the results in the sections below (source). The "sections below" refers to:

1. Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
2. Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
3. One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

Therefore, you are good to go if the ECA summary is "College Certificate" or "Completion of College-level certificate".

The GCMS note does not show any concerns from the case officer. So why are you worried? You can go ahead to send any other support documents you omitted. However, if I were in your shoes, I will do nothing but wait for a while and request for GCMS note to see if any other concerns have been raised. This is just my opinion.

You're worrying too much and we can understand why.. You have submitted all the appropriate documents. You can raise a CSE like others have said to resubmit all the documents and more. And no, you won't look defensive or desperate. I just think when it comes to children (especially because he or she is not your biological child) they have to make sure they're making the right decision.

We pray and hope for a favourable outcome.

Just a copy of newspaper? She will need to get copies that cut across the years of experience she is claiming. She will also need evidences of other duties.

Has she requested for her GCMS note? If no, she should request for it so she can have a better understanding of the case officer's concerns. It might not just be the reference letter. It might even be the way she answered the questions she was asked during the interview. She will need to address all the concerns of the case officer.

I think raising a CSE seems to be a better approach and more cost effective.
Itissettled3:
We are planning to get a copy of the newspaper and portion where her name appears as the editor.

Her appointment letter doesn't contain duties.

About 50%

I was advising she reapplies but she is saying we should raise a CSE with all evidence and they might reopen her application. What do you all think?
