And outside of the situations where you can get exact locations, IP's do give you region location. But, the region location isn't the limit of an IP use. There are also ways to get personal information from your ISP with your Ip if someone really tried. And there are other uses, that I won't get into. Bemeruca repeatedly posted those phishing links because he thought they could be useful. And I think the most pernicious part of all this is the amount of personal information that people in this thread give out that they think is innocuous. Personal information that hackers would love.
