Since we are now on the same page, let me quickly share this…
After reading this and we couldn’t still go to the next stage of resolving to weigh the importance/advantages of homosexuality as it affects our individuals and the society at large, then against the disadvantages it poses with facts and figures, then I’m done! We need to call it a quit if we couldn’t sufficiently provide the best of means to rid-off an act that is not adding any value to our society but rather serving the selfish purpose and desperate pleasure fulfilment of an insignificant numbers of a people in the society we share together.
If not for selfishness as aforementioned in this post and severally in my previous ones, how can you think of engaging in an act that is not acceptable and furiously condemned to the extent of tagging it a crime in your first society? Why do you want to become uncooperative to the society that brought you up with all it has done for you, because of some alien and environmental influence? Why can’t you be self-disciplined with strong will even if the temptation keeps coming? If you think morality is a course not worthwhile, YEAH, it is! In fact it is the most important value of man, next to the default characteristics itself… MR NIGER D!
They might see it as something that has to do with their personal selves but it is better we curb an act that will later degenerate into something we will not be able to handle eventually, instead of toying with same.
Let me break it down here:
every human or child has the tendency of choosing the bad way over the good way upon the fact that our mind is designed to have the ability to know the right thing from the wrong thing (ethics) but from inception of man, it has been always that we find it more convenient to choose the bad way over the good one, probably due to the excuse of comfort, pleasure, lustfulness, curiosity and the likes. We have common sense, we know what is ideal and genuine, we know what can add value to human’s existence yet in most cases, we choose self-satisfaction over core values.
To me, I share the fact that when an act is considered barbaric or immoral within a society that existed before you and you are coming up with an idea that is contradictory, the most important thing you need to first consider or sell is the value of your new idea and not your selfish adventure / pleasure. At least, a new idea must be able to convincingly add worth to your own self and the rest of the society; that is when I consider an idea innovative and worthwhile. Not the one that will be all about ‘YOU and YOU’, ‘YOU and YOUR SELF’, ‘YOU and YOUR PLEASURE’. Its quite sick! Its your life tho but its also selfish! An idea to me can be dropped if it is selfish in nature. Afterall, it is illegal for now, not until it is proven crime-free.
Now, let me relate the genesis of Homosexuality the way I understand it vis-a-vis my personal experience:
When I was at the age of 14/15, there about, I was playing football (Juvenile Soccer Academy). There was this particular team mate (name withheld) of mine that had this feminine nature kind of, not physical feature tho. It was just natural. He was tender hearted, he was never upset with any issue even when others were furious, he was skilful, he was fragile, he laughed to almost every issue either funny or tensed, he was kind-hearted and kind indeed, he was soft, he had this ‘butty’ look but has a very humble background, he was feminine in nature except his physical appearance that looked like a trained soldier/footballer.
All these features attracted me to him but obliviously. I had this brief fantasy / feelings for him; I was attracted to him sort of. Mw, as at that time, all I knew about sexx or sexual orientation was just the curiosity of going to store to check out the bigger dick! That child’s play kind of. Then, I had had unattached sexx with a neighbour (a girl, almost my age out of her own curiosity of what she used to see her elder cousin doing with a guy), it was nothing tho. It didn’t have anything to do with the feelings I had for the guy because it was not around the same time and moreso, the sexx didn’t come to mind at any point in time. it was casual, passive and immature, so I couldn’t have seen it as a pusher. It was a child’s play and nothing close to the real sexual feelings, I was not sexually activated, so I couldn’t have had sexual feelings for the guy (my team mate).
Sincerely, I did not know or ever even thought that it was a special feelings I had for him then not until when I was growing up and started hearing some stories about how some folks banged themselves sort of (after a lot of years). I still didn’t have sexual feelings for him when I adequately understand the meaning of Gay, even though I always missed him and wished to see him anytime I remember the feelings I had for him then. Funny me, when I grew up to understand or remembers the story of Solomon that loved a man as described by the Bible, ‘like a woman’, I used to laugh and consider the feelings I had for the guy as a representation of Solomon’s Gayish Life (haha!)
Upon all the feelings I was experiencing then, I never for one day discuss it with the guy nor show it (meanwhile, he might be feeling the same way about me in silence as well because we were very close). Any form of relationship (other than friendship) or intercourse with him wouldn’t have been possible because I did not even have an idea of its possibility (me wey never even date a girl much more a boy like me). Gay was not on the street of Nigeria then but go to secondary schools now and ask them the meaning of gay, you will be amused/amazed with their analysis on GLBT. Personally, I got to know or have a clearer picture of GLBT recently, (can u imagine?) now that is getting crazy and more popular within our society.
The story I’m sharing here is the greatest soft pulse I have for GLBT community (as claimed) because I understand obviously what it means to be attracted to a same-sex person. Just like the way you will put your mind off it, if you fall in love or feel sexually attracted to your blood sister, your cousin or even your daughter, is the same approach, if you fall in love with a same sex person. All these feelings are natural for one reason or the other but mind you, the exact way you controlled yourself against incest is the same way you do for homo feelings as it is also condemned in our society. After all, it has not been proven that it is genetic in nature. BroS, you just need to try hard to let go!
Let me now point out some vitals in my story (my fantasied gay partner);
1. that, assuming that I was carelessly trained and exposed to immoral sexual life, I had a great tendency of taking a bold step towards expressing my feelings to him and he too, being a juvenile would have taken it as one of those playful funs just like the way I conceded to the other girl, my first sex-mate. Who knows, may be a relationship would have sprung up between us but thank God for good home training and upbringing I now cherish.
2. that, relatively, if Gay was popular as at that time (referring to early 90’s) in our society just like now or more in the future, may be that singular feelings would have put me in a curious list, and I would have felt like checking out the feelings, the fun of dating a same sex and or even having sexual intercourse with a fellow guy. From kissing to smooching and other things follow.
3. that, I would have grown up with it and assume that there is one gene that is responsible for the feelings I had for the guy.
It is natural though but growing up as a kid and even as a grown up man, you have a tendency to being exposed to different kinds of natures, habits, attitudes, characters or addictions. All these attributes are natural and environmental acquisitions that develop with us and blend with our life styles as we grow up.
Rest assured that the aforementioned attributes are the feelings Homos also have and go a step further by assuming or consciously claiming to be a nature that must be welcome into the system that forbids it (Don’t ask me why it is forbade, it is immoral and illegal – check the meaning of illegal). And also seeking the empathy of some vacillating individuals to contradict the norms of the same society they belong to.
Conclusively, Im not desperate to involve you or register you in my school of thought rather trying to let you know that Homosexuality is not a genetic sexual orientation but a natural feelings that can be nurtured or ignored. Yes, it can be ignored if you have the strong will and found it unnecessary. It is not genetic until some people make it so and that’s what we are actually trying to guide against.
Generally, if you can ignore it for the sake of its irrelevance to you and the society you belong to, fine for you but in the contrary, I advise it is wise to do what will make you to be conveniently acceptable in the society you belong to, my point of view!
