cheapest airline i have seen usually is quatar for nigeria- us flights

dont go with delta - they tend to be one of the highest from nigeria to the us. last time i checked thiers was like $1200-1500

where are you fling into?  your middle eastern airlines tend to have some cheap flights, some european are realativly cheap as well.  i have see luftanza for $800 before.  talk to some travel agents - us travel agents (over the phone).  sometimes it is cheaper to buy a roundtrip starting in the US rather then a one way from nigeria.  go on travel sites and such

your final destination will play a huge role in the price.  example flying into say jfk will be sometimes $300-500 cheaper then flying into scranton which is only 60 miles away, flying into dc can be $400 cheaper then Baltimore which is less then 30 miles away.  also look into amtrac.  sometimes it is cheper to fly into a place like dc, la or ny or other major hub and take a train to your final destination.

You are going to south Carolina. Certainly no direct flights.The largest big cities close to it with international airports are Atlanta and Charlotte, N. C. Your ticket will be more expensive due to this.

I think the only direct airline from Naija to US is Delta. So, at a minimum you will have one layover, if you fly Delta that is. Any other airlines means you will have at least 2 layovers. For example any of the European airlines will take you to their country fo course, then another stop in the US, before connecting you to South Carolina.

No problem. As for your question, you have to check with the various travel agencies in Nigeria. On this end, if you book online, you will have to pay for it at the same time.
