This is only if you lied on your application.

If you take a sabbatical from your job and your story match between what was told to the embassy and to the POE I don't see a problem. Or if you're well off.

Hello Everyone. i am really amazed at the huge contributions I have been reading here since I was introduced to this forum.

In the year 2012, a friend of mine in trying to assist me out of my jobless & broke state then, contacted a travel agent who assured us that he can help me get a students visa to the US for a fee. We were both convinced he could do it when we saw other people he had helped.

He provided documents (work, bank statements, school admission letter etc.) for me and he told me to get my senior brother info which I used in preparing my international passport, due to he has some documents that can be used, unfortunately i was refused the visa for false documentation.

Now I am interested in going to US with my family, and fortunately, my current status has changed from a job seeking guy back then to an owner of a fashion house .

My fears now are that the US would use the false information i submitted then (6 years ago) to refuse me again as my full names and my date of birth have changed (the agent advised us then to use my senior brother info.

I got a new passport now with my real information, but am afraid of submitting it to the US because of my fears that they might refuse me and worst still my wife and kids applied to them last year but they got denied without any proper reasons.

because of this i have been shying away from applying for US visa. This is my first post here and I would greatly appreciate sincere advise from experienced people here on what to do.

So unfortunate. There are stuffs some visa holders won't tell the public about the reason behind their visa revocation. If you claimed you'd return to the country at a particular date and you extended it by not notifying the appropriate office while in the US, it could spark the HLS's suspicion and such a visa holder could be on a watch list this could lead to eventual revocation. One of the reports made to the US about Nigerians seeking asylum in Canada is that, once they land in the US, they stay for some time in US to stabilise, after which they'd proceed to Canada through the US/Canada Land border. You said you'd spend just a few days in US and you end up staying longer before returning . It's risky if you don't inform the appropriate authority why you decided to stay longer, even though the immigration would stamp your passport with 6 months stay at the entry post. Again, some visa holders don't have any intention of returning to the country any time soon with their family, including their children who also were issued visa. The husband or wife would travel first to hustle , after which the children would join with spouse after the spouse who first left must have secured accommodation for them in Yankee. Meanwhile, the type of visa they had didn't permit them to emigrate to US, being a NIV. The immigration would monitor this without them knowing. The immigration share information with Airlines so, they know when you entered and also left the country. Visa holders don't know all these. It's very important not to flout visa rules to enable visa holders secure or renew one successfully next time. US isn't Nigeria where the fed govt doesn't know it's country's population and those crossing into Nigeria illegally. They love their people, unlike our govt who care less about Nigerians.

Its very simple..come out clean this time..answer all question with honesty..whem filling the form you would see where they ask questions like "have you misrepresented before?have you lied In your previous application? Etc.come clean with these questions and thank me later

If you must apply to the USA pls come out clean and say all concerning your previous visa to avoid USA travel ban
