Already there is palpable tension in the area as the people of Oluasiri have cried out over what they called the invasion of the community and killing of its people by the military between Thursday and Friday. .

Even though I'm against the killing of an infant and his mother. But the rate of sea pirates and militant is becoming a cause for alarm, especially bayelsa state.
These guys don't want to learn a trade all they believe in is our share, IYC money, general this and general that, settle us or else we will seize your boat.
To be honest security in bayelsa state both land and riverine communities, is a complete mess. Imagine a situation where a whole local government headquarter of an Ex- president is being held hostage for more than 2 hours by seapirates, and no reprisal attack from security forces.
As a matter of fact a marine police station was ransacked and two police officers were killed. This happened in a town where we have the marine police, army, civil defence, and even the Nigeria police, no single gunshot was fired by these so called security men.
I think this security outfits need to step up their games, due to their flop. Bayelsa state is becoming one of the worst state to do business in South- South in terms of security.
