Having done justice to the memory of the late MKO Abiola and received praises even from his most strident critics such as Afenifere and the likes of Femi Fani-Kayode, President Buhari should extend the honour to our great leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Nobody can question Ojukwu's commitment to a just an egalitarian society and his love for his people as well as Nigeria. It was his act of courage that led to the formation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) today which has helped in uniting our youths more than anything else. If Buhari cam honour Ojukwu too, he will not only have my vote, but i can guarantee he will get over 70 percent of votes in Igboland.

This OP doesn't know Igbo's. Don't forget, Igbos are not just in the SE! About 25 million are spread across the country and form part of the voting patterns of those places. He should instead concentrate his efforts at the Yorubas/SW. Jonathan already achieved that control by giving Ojukwu a national burial, hence the Igbos stuck with him despite his national failures and failure to deliver the 2nd NigerBridge as he had promised the SouthEast. Ojukwu died a Nigerian and was buried a Nigerian in the national colours, while Biafran flag was nowhere to be found being on unconditional surrender. 2 Likes |

Mr Ochereome Nnanna is the Chairman Editorial Board of Vanguard Newspapers. He is also apparently an ethnic bigot who could not hide his hatred for the Yoruba race due to the June 12 recognition of Chief MKO Abiola, GCFR. In a comment on Facebook, Mr Nnanna referred to the Yorubas as “Sophisticated Morons”! I wouldn’t have made an issue of this because I understand that emotions were rife but considering the sensitive position he occupies, I feel it is dangerous for this nation for a man who directs the editorial board of a national newspaper to be this hate filled. The management of Vanguard Newspapers need to call Mr Nnanna to order or reconsider his fitness for such a sensitive role. With this level of unveiled disdain for a race, it is difficult for anyone to expect any neutrality or fairness from Vanguard Newspapers. If this nation means anything to you, please share this until the Management of Vanguard Newspapers does something about Mr Nnenna’s attitude.
