I know what you're probably thinking as you read the caption of my thread [bizarre!].

But i sat down to really analyse my bad habits. What can really change me? Our priest has tried, my parents, elders, co-workers and so on.

I find myself going back to my gambling, dubious life and aggressive behaviour after a little period of remorse. Even my arrest at a point and ill-health could not yield to a long-term positive change.

Then it dawned on me that i'm the way i am because of my mother. During the time we were 'comfortable,' she over-pampered me. I guess i'm an unrepentant brat now.

She would always exonerate me from any wrongdoing while i was growing up. I guess it's because i am a boy. All the work and discipline went to the girls

Now, i find myself falling into one trouble or the other because my mum is always there to bail me out. Maybe when she's no more, i'll sit up and face life. Although, i don't want to imagine that scenario yet because she makes life a little bit easy for me.

Your mother doesn't have to die, all you need is to sit down, think about your life, and advice yourself.
your pastor and family members can't change you if you have not taken the decision to be a better person.

I know it may not be easy but just pretend you have no one in this world to help you.... drop bad friends, invest in business, pray (if ur a Christian)... Good luck

don't just push me young man, better go and kill her instead of waiting and wishing. had it been my mum is still alive things would have been better for me. I made my 1st half a million in 2015 at d age of 23 but because mum was not there to guide me i left d house and rent a room in another area and furnished it, then it down on me that living alone and catering for myself is not easy. I made another hit more than my 1st one in December 2016 mind u am just a house painter so i work for all this money and i decided to travel outside d shores of this country for greener pasture and u know what? d agent swallowed my #650k. what am I saying? had it been mum is here with me she would have called one of his brothers cos one is in Germany, one is in Mozambique, a lot are in South Africa while one d sisters is in Canada but because mum died in 2010 December they all don't ask after us again. and u are wishing Death on ur mum, let me not call u names sha. Mummies are d best wether they over pampered u or not.

Leave your baby in the hands of your wife alone and trust me, she will breed a failure and a fool out of him.

We men should realize that we are the way we are because of our fathers.

Guy, aren't you ashamed of disrespecting your Mom here on nairaland just because you need attention?

Why don't you use anything to gain attention instead of your mother even if she's late.

I know you are still a kid but trust me, in ten years time, you'll be ashamed of all these your disrespectful post about your Mom.

i can't help but agree. I have a lackadaisical approach to life. Probably because she made life 'too soft' for me. These days, I hardly listen to her caution or instruction. I guess i'm beyond repair now.

As for your advice of getting occupied with something, it works to some extent before i find it boring and then the desire to explore enters me......

how can someone say that he his mature and then publicly blame his mother for his behaviour........doesn't he he know his left from his right or does his mother dictate to him on a daily basis?

At a particular age in life u start thinking of dropping some character you have emulated from your parent and reason out who you need to become.

All I can deduce is that you are not matured enought to accept responsibility as far as life is concerned

start by telling God to help you and start accepting responsibility for the choices you make...good or bad and blame no one but yourself no matter what.

hmm... I'll try, though it won't be easy. As sweet as care/protection, it suffocated me.

Now, it's me against the real world.

hmm... I'm advanced in age oo. Maybe it's because i'm still staying with my mum and she doesn't starve me as a punishment.
