The 5 Best Super Eagles Strikers Since 2000 by FemiFemola: 4:40pm On Jun 10, 2018
With the 2018 FIFA World Cup only days away, one of the questions about Nigeria's Super Eagles has been the ability of the front line to deliver goals.

The team heads to Russia with Odion Ighalo and Kelechi Iheanacho the two major striking options for the team. Both players aren't in the best of form, with Iheanacho's last goal for Nigeria coming in last year's friendly win over Argentina.

Ighalo, on his part, hasn't scored for the Super Eagles since scoring the opener in a 4-0 win over Cameroon in a World Cup Qualifying match in September 2017.

With quality like England based-duo Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi on the wings, it is hoped that the misfiring strikers won't have too much of an impact on the team's chances of success in Russia.

But has Nigeria always lacked in the striking department? Let's take a look at some of Nigeria's best front-men since the turn of the millennium.

5. Julius Aghahowa

Despite not featuring for the Super Eagles for a prolonged period, Julius Aghahowa left his mark on the Super Eagles. Combining his pace with a keen eye for goal, Aghawonder scored a goal roughly every two games for Nigeria, with Rashidi Yekini and Segun Odegbami the only players to score more goals with a better ratio. And it wasn't just that he scored, he also knew how to celebrate well.
