Scholarship Description: The United Nations Africa Scholarship awards over 100,000 scholarships for bachelor degree, masters, and postgraduate study and professional development to citizens of developing African countries each year. The International scholarship awarded by the United Nations provides monthly financial assistance to qualified candidates and also give them the ability to study and work in any country of their choice all through the period of programme. The scholarship is available to South Africa, East Africa, and West Africa countries only

Scholarship covers:

Tuition fees
Accommodation fees
Cost of books (Book allowance)
Project and equipment expenses
Student monthly allowance ($1,500)

Eligibility

Interested students must have obtained a high school leaving certificate to qualify for the scholarship. Part-time students are eligible to apply for the scholarship only in circumstances where the applicant is able to demonstrate heavy career commitments or a medical condition that precludes them from studying full time. Students may be either internal or external students. Both international and domestic students are eligible to apply. (Any stipend award for international students will be subject to confirmation of a full fee scholarship for the corresponding period.) Students who hold another scholarship may apply. Masters/PhD student must work on writing their thesis full time (a minimum of 35 hours per week) for the duration of the scholarship (i.e. they must have completed the research stage).The application form must be completed online or through the hard copy. The successful applicant will be chosen at the sole discretion of the United Nation.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have met the following criteria:

All successful African applicants to the top ten Business Schools (as ranked by the Financial Times) are eligible to receive Scholarship regardless of domicile. The grant is awarded to successful candidates prior to the annual intake for that Business School. The Scholarship is intended to provide additional financial support to help African students bridge some of the financial burden attached to taking on MBA programmes, it will not be enough to act as the primary source of funding for these programmes.
