This is called office politics, the only difference is the church environment. You are obviously out of the loop hence why they've secluded and mock you. I honestly believe the best thing to do when faced with constant embarrassment is to avoid the situation. For me it means stop going to church or find a new venue.

Then I guess you either bear with the situation or find a way to enter their midst. I seriously advice you pull out from the environment completely as the constant worry will wear you down both physically and mentally.

Humbleness right now is the least of your worries. Relating with them is only a means to either pacify them or make them accept you. If they accept you they won't have bad things to say.

I just noticed now you wrote you don't speak their language. Well then make an effort. Pick some easy words and use them from time to time in their presence. It'll show them that although you're a stranger in their midst you're willing to embrace their way(s).
