There are several promos in the Nigerian markets ranging from banks to telecommunications, detergents, beverages, technology, airlines, malls and so on... but i have observed that we hardly see the winners, but only see on television that a northerner won The grand price (na only northerners dey win promo ni?). The last time I checked, what I and some of the people close to me (friends and family) have won so far is either a free-drink or a pen and exercise book.

The only scenario I ever witnessed looked a bit staged to me. Now let me give the gist in details so you can judge yourself... I was in the popular Trade-fair market and suddenly a girl and her big sis came to one shop to buy detergent (won't mention the name) and back then during the promo, they sell the detergent with the scratch card on it. The girl bought the detergent and immediately walked away to a secluded place to scratch the card and started running back to where she bought it shouting that she has won a car (in my mind I say chai! Na how person dey win motor be this?). People began to gather and not up to 30secs, the brand manager of the said detergent showed up from no where  with other top staffs of the company and started taking pictures with the girl and the excitement on the girl's face also looks fake. My question now is where this manager and other top officials show up from, and how did they know someone won a car and showed up in less than 30secs.

I've always been skeptical about promos in Nigeria because we hardly see the winners afterwards.
