Use your Nigerian paypal account linked with your debit card ( ecobank mastercard preferably, rate is N362 / $1) to make the payment , just ask the seller to send you their paypal account address or they send you prepayment invoice to your PayPal account.

First bank , GTbank accepts lower dollar amounts , the easiest way to open a dorm account with these bank is to have a current account with them by that 90% of the account opening process is done.

When did PayPal start accepting Nigerians debit cards?

I opened a dom account two months ago in GTB but its restricted cos my second reference was rejected. Provided another from Zenith and I was told it was rejected as well and the CC agent advised that I bring someone from GTB because they're not in control of the reasons for another bank rejecting it. So please if you have a gtb dom or current account and you can help me, that will be very appreciated.
@pentools or anyone
Thank you.

Although I'm based in Lagos, I am currently in Benin city for the holidays. It doesn't matter where you're based though, I could send the pdf version of the form to you and you scan a filled one back to me. That's what my first reference did 'cause he was too busy. GTB allows sending it via email so I can just forward it to them.

That’s not the problem , the problem is I don’t know you and your intent and I need to know who I am filling a referral for , I actually had the same problem with GTB but someone on nairaland helped me with it( after verifying) and that’s why I want to pay it forward
That's fine. Where are you based?

twenty dollars is the minimum, to open a domiciliary account in GTB. Try stanbic bank, I heard they open with 50 dollars.
But GTB, is the best.

U mean with $20 I can open a Dom account?

Why should Nigerian banks request for referees from Nigerian adult citizens?

Do they even ask the rich class for referees too? *Raised eyebrows*

No bank in Nigeria does. If Kuwait Dinar is transferred from Kuwait, it will be converted to usd or euro or gbp in your Nigerian dom acct.

Hello Good day Fam. Please am trying to open a Gtbank domiciliary account but am currently stuck at the reference part, I was told they don't take reference from salary earners. Please if you have a gtb dom or current account and you can help me, that will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance

Don't mind that salary earner caveat. Just get someone who has a current account in gtbank and start the processing.

I have domiciliary accounts with GTB and Standard Chartered. Had one with Access that I closed.

I explored Diamond and Zenith Bank's offers before I opened with Standard Chartered, and in my opinion the dom account conditions are pretty uniformly lousy all round, but GTB's is among the best of the lot, with the caveat that it depends on what you want to use the account for.

1. Diamond bank does the minimum balance bullshit and for someone like me who receives money from abroad, that's a no-no. GTB allows you to draw your account down to zero if you so wish.

2. In 14 years of operating the accounts, I've never had an issue with any of my transfers to or from the bank.

3. Their charges were OK previously even though they upped them in 2016 or thereabouts. Since I don't make many transfers out, but mainly receive, I can live with that.

4. I prefer their use of a dollar card not directly linked to your account so you first have to transfer funds into it before use. Makes it easier for me to control spending when abroad and also to check fraud to an extent.

How about standard Chartered. Are the good, better or worse than Gtb?

Diamond Bank Dom account pays interest. You can even do fix deposits in Dollar, Pounds or Euro

How current is this face? I ask cos I wanna open a dorm account and hook it up to my Payoneer. I want the savings variant. GTBannk dollar account and transactions are a huge rip-off.

And does Diamond pay dollars over the counter

from personal experience Diamond Dom account is the best.
1. open with any amount
2 . pay you interest on outstanding balance
3. you can transfer funds from ur phone to China/abroad
4. u have daily limit of 10k$
5 transfer charges are. very low $25 telex fee.+ 0.05% of transfer amount.

try it and thank me later. walk on to any of the branch pick a form and their staff will be much eager to assist.

Do they pay dollars over the counter?
