I'd Tell Mom But Not Dad? by Carolece(f): 8:19pm On Jun 21, 2010
So today I was chatting with a friend who told me she thinks her mom is having an affair with someone at her job. She is pretty sure about it as she has been seeing them out on dates and even kissing at times. Her mom does nothing to cover up that she is having the relationship because she knows her daughter would not tell.

My question to her now, what if you dad should know? Her question was how would he? I was like, so you wouldnt tell your dad your mom is having an affair? Obviously she said no, then went on to add but if it was dad she'd tell mom.

I disagree. If mom's going to know about dad, I think the same should go the other way, dad should know too.

Agree?
Disagree?

Very convoluted but I agree.

Tell your friend to confront her mum  on the issue and  let her hear what she has to say to it.
Telling her dad about the affair might be destructive to their marriage, you know.
Whatever she decides to do,  it all takes wisdom. Matters of the mind are '. . .'

Poor dad. . .but why should your friend think there's nothing wrong in what her mum is doing;but seeing it a crime the other way? She'll definately do same to her own hubby too.

Abi oooo!

I was wondering about the same thing before i stumbled on your reply.A mother/wife is cheating on her husband, her daughter knows about it and everything is "cool".No worries. If it was the father who was cheating on the mom, this thread would have been 300 pages long by now with all the NL chicks screaming blue murder, giving all sorts of advice and baying for blood but hey. . .no worries. It's just a guy/husband/father being cheated on and no biggie.

The most annoying thing is the man in question might be a very loving and caring husband who is doing all he can to provide for his family, doing his best to keep his wife happy and all that. . .but the woman can't help herself. It happens a lot in homes where the man is a "Mr Nice Guy" or "Mr Secure and Trusting".These men go into marriage believing that their wives will remain the same and even when the wife starts showing the "signs", he can't see beyond his nose coz he's either blinded by love or he's struggling to keep the family from breaking up.More info on this typical behavior from women can be found on this website :

As much as i find myself attached to a woman to the extent i get married, i will definitely not give my heart out 100%.

The situation really sucks.

This is so sad because this mother has basically told her daughter that marriage is not honorable. Your friend will most likely not have a problem cheating on her husband. She will excuse it away after all her mother did it

see as iice's patience dey run dry. aha

I'd hate to be in this situation. . . .the chick should tell her mom's sister/brother/uncle/aunt/mother/father etc, they can go from there. No child wants to feel like they destroyed their family.

If you pay attention to 99% of whiteroses posts you will realize that she basically lives by the principle that men behave like animals and it should be excused but at the same time she honestly believes that she is not insulting them LOL. That's the best way I can describe her comments honestly
