~What Are Fragrance Notes? ~All perfumes, irrespective of its flavor and brand, comprises of three different sets of components. These components differ in their evaporation time. These are comprised of many different scents referred to as "notes". There's Top note,Middle or Heart Note & Base Note. Top Note are very light and last only 5-10 minutes .The top note consists of small molecules which takes less time for evaporation. Middle note It emerges when the top notes dissipate. Aroma from this note class vaporizes between two minutes to one hour of its application. So, it is the second aroma felt. Molecules need more time to evaporate than the top note. It can last up to an hour or more. Base note This is the final aura sensed in a fragrance. It emerges right after the departure of the middle note, usually after the initial half an hour to one hour of the scent application. It takes the longest time to evaporate, so its presence is the last to be noticed.
