Most mainstream Muslims (Sunni) agree that Shia and Ahmadiyya are kafir. The man is just trying to be a "moderate" Muslim. In Mecca during pilgrimmage, the Shia don't pray together with the Sunni. So the mallam is actually teaching the correct thing. "Moderate Islam" is only present in the South West as most Yorubas are syncretic, mixing up african traditional religion, christianity and Islam while mistaking this syncretism for open mindedness. |
