We are living in a demon-saturated world. This world is so filled with demons that demons are absolutely controlling the affairs of the world by possessing men. Demons are everywhere: in churches, in politics, in entertainment industries, in academic, in communication areas, in transportation sectors...name them! People are not aware of this because demons operate mostly by transforming themselves as angels of light (2 Co 11:14). The world is so filled with demons that sometimes a thousand demons may possess one person! In Mark 5:8-9, Jesus asked an unclean spirit possessing a man "What is your name?", the unclean spirit answered "My name is Legion, because we are many". It's not an exaggeration to say that some popular pastors who are making wave around the world are actually filled with thousands of demons who have transormed themselves as angels of light. Now, people must realize that one-third of rebellious angels were driven out of heaven alongside Lucifer as demons (Rev 12:4), we don't know the total number of angels in heaven during the period of Lucifer's rebellion but 1/3 is a great great figure that should create fear to mankind. Yet people are living as though they don't care, however there's no neutrality. It's either one is possessed by demons or one has the Spirit of God. Therefore, people are possessed by demons without even knowing they have been possessed. As the Devil continues to drag millions of people with his tail to hell, how can one live in this demonic world? Nowadays when we examine the symptoms of people who receive false spirits we can see the ACTUAL EXISTENCE of DEMONS. “Revival meetings for the Holy Spirit” are gatherings in which people who desperately want to receive the Holy Spirit. In these meetings we see people clapping their hands and offering prayers of repentance while crying and fasting. The preacher instructs them to offer fanatical prayers by telling them that the Holy Spirit won’t come on them until they do so. People then cry out, “Lord!” and start their fanatical prayers.

Can these fanatics receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in this manner? No. You would see people scream and fall back, and then shiver, while making strange noises at such meetings. Some are falling back and shivering on the ground here and there, and we see them scream and start to speak in tongues. Someone throughout the meeting screams his head off and the crowd is overwhelmed with emotion. Some of them start to have fits, shaking all over and speaking in tongues.

People say that these phenomena are the evidence that the Holy Spirit has come on them. But think about what happens when a demon does his work? Is this the work of the Holy Spirit? DEFINITELY NOT.

2Thessalonians 2:9-10

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of SATAN, with all POWER, SIGNS, and LYING WONDERS, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

SATAN DECEIVES MANY CHRISTIANS

Nowadays, many Christians lead the kind of religious lives that Satan wants. Satan deceives people by telling them that they have to receive the laying on of hands from a powerful minister in order to receive the Holy Spirit. Many Christians tend to believe this as a formal doctrine. Satan also plants the idea into people’s heads that they will receive the Holy Spirit if they pray excessively.

Satan has been trying to double and triple the number of people who have this kind of faith. Therefore many people don’t know, and don’t even try to learn about the gospel of the water and the Spirit. We must struggle to avoid the thoughts Satan tries to put in our heads and know and believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit ONLY comes on those who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, truly sanctified and cleansed from sin. You must believe in this.

SATAN WORKS THROUGH THE CHRISTIANS LIKE A FORTUNETELLER

We will now look at the symptoms of those possessed by demons. First, when we examine the symptoms of possession by a demon in a fortuneteller or SHAMAN, we see that they experience trembling fits, trances and even fainting. Then their tongues get twisted and odd words come out of their mouths against their will. They speak in strange incomprehensible tongues.

BOTH sorcerers and Christians who have been possessed by demons through the laying on of hands are JOINT OWNERS of this experience. When a charismatic revivalist takes out his mike and shouts, “With fire, with fire, with fire,” the congregation gets excited and loses self-control. People who want to receive the laying on of hands from him come up to the front. They experience uncontrollable shaking fits and speak in tongues.

These symptoms are the work of demons that are pretending to do the work of the Holy Spirit. People who are possessed by evil spirits, which can be summoned by shamans and fortunetellers of every primitive religion, show the SAME SYMPTOMS as Christians who are possessed by demons through the laying on of hands. However, people misunderstand this, despite this evidence. Those Christians are plunged into deep confusion because they think they have received the Holy Spirit when they experience these kinds of symptoms.

History of the Church said that there was no Christmas for the first two centuries in the early church. The early church Christians along with Jesus' Apostles had only commemorated January 6th as "the Day of Jesus' Baptism" at the Jordan by John the Baptist. Why did they lay such a great emphasis on Jesus' baptism in their beliefs? The answer is the very key to the Christianity of Apostolic tradition. But I hope for you not to be confused with the water baptism of believers and the Baptism of Jesus.

The baptism of believers as it exists today has a very different meaning from the baptism Jesus received from John. Therefore, we should all have the same faith as Jesus' disciples if we want to receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We should all receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit by believing in Jesus Christ's baptism, which He received from John, and in His blood on the Cross.

If the early church thought of baptism as an extremely important ritual, it was due to their pivotal faith in Jesus' baptism, and we should nowadays also consider Jesus' baptism by John as indispensable component to our salvation. Furthermore, we must reach and keep the right faith of perfect knowledge, which says that Jesus had to be crucified due to His baptism by John. We should bear in mind that the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in us when we believe that Jesus was baptized, died on the Cross and was resurrected to become our Savior. Jesus' baptism by John and His blood on the Cross has such a special meaning in the beautiful gospel.

The fail-safe way for us to receive the Holy Spirit is to believe in the beautiful gospel of Jesus' baptism and blood. Jesus' baptism cleansed all the sins of mankind at once. It was the baptism of redemption that leads us to receive the Holy Spirit. Since some people don't realize the power of Jesus' baptism, they understand it as mere ceremony.

Jesus' baptism forms part of the beautiful gospel, which tells of how He took away all the sins of the world and accepted the judgment for them by shedding blood on the Cross. Anyone who believes in the words of this beautiful gospel becomes a member of the church, which is a possession of the Lord, and enjoys the blessings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God to those who have been forgiven for their sins.

With His baptism, Jesus became "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" well enough (John 1:29). In John 1:6-7 it says, "There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe." In order to believe in Jesus as our Savior, who took away all our sins, we must understand John's ministry and testimony as it is written in the Bible. Then we will be able to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. In order to receive the Holy Spirit, we also need our strong faith heartened by his testimony. Therefore, to complete the beautiful gospel of truth, we must believe in Jesus' baptism by John and in His blood on the Cross.
