so i come across this funny Facebook page loaded with jokes (mr funny bobo) and i saw one mathematics question I've been trying to solve since 30th december 2018 till today and I've not been able to solve it so i decide to get the answer from nairaland. here is the question***

You Borrowed 50K From
Ur Mom And 50K From Ur
Dad = 100K. You Bought
The Laptop Which Left
You With 3K Change. You
Gave Ur Dad 1K And Ur
Mum 1K And Kept The
Other 1K To Yourself.
Now You Owe Your Mum
49K And Ur Dad 49K.
Now 49K+49K = 98K + Ur
1K Kept = 99K.Where Is
The Missing 1K?I Know

Let me answer this very very simple question,

You calculated your unpaid debt, paid debt and change together,
It shouldn't be so
It is same as saying, you borrowed 49k each from your parent and bought something of 97k
Will you calculate your 1k change with the total debt ?

1k is the one you kept to yourself

This is plain stupidity, this isn't any riddle or IQ questions, this is a trick maths questions that were normally set out in the past to confuse and trick students whose minds will fall for the trick...
you got 100k.. bought laptop 97k and you're left with 3k, you gave your dad 1k and gave your mom 1k, you're having the remaining 1k with you. Asking a question bout this is plain dumb

Very simple. 97k/2=48.5 (mum) 48.5 (Dad) 48.5+48.5= 97 (3k to balance) money shared: 1k (mum) + 1k (dad) +1k (Son)=3k. Hence: 97+3= 100k.
