Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye has finally surrendered himself to the Nigerian police, PoliticsNGR has just gathered.

Melaye, who has been holed up in his residence for 8 days to avoid arrest by Policemen for alleged culpable homicide left his Maitama home on Friday afternoon to meet with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris at the Force headquarters in Abuja.

Some senators who visited the lawmaker at his residence on Friday went with Melaye to see the Police boss, in a bid to resolve the issue.

More than 50 policemen stormed Melaye’s mansion last week Friday in an attempt to arrest him for interrogation over the alleged shooting of one Sgt. Aliyu.

Aliyu is currently lying in Critical condition at the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja.
