The north must not be allowed to enslave us again, its either Jonathan or no nigeria, these northerners are one useless set of parasitic demons, at times i just hate this country

And who can prevent that? grin grin grin So you used to be enslaved how did you come out of it ? grin grin grin

Every Nigerian has the right to contest not just allow to do so, therefore GJ is free to contest of course.
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by mikeoscar: 1:19am On Aug 13, 2010
The PDP Chairman hasn't said anything spectacular, afterall it is His constitutional right to contest for Presidency irrespective of any intra-party back door arrangements.

BTW PDP is not the only party in Nigeria. That He can contest does not mean that He MUST win the primaries in His party or that PDP is the only party in Nigeria. Hoping that credible oppositions will come-up this time and give the incumbent party a good run angry angry.
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by Ofemmanu: 3:27am On Aug 13, 2010
PDP did not endorse Jonathan, but they just acknowledged the mere fact that jonathan has the constitutional right

to contest. And thats why they rejected GEJ camp's request of deleting the zoning formular;instead, they threw the

race open for any party member to contest.
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by Enquirer: 3:47am On Aug 13, 2010
PDP should stop confusing itself. Jonathan has shown he can be relied on. His party platform is immaterial. The constitution (not PDP constitution) says he is free to run. He is the best material with any chance of winning right now. If PDP likes, let it shoot itself in the foot by bucking the wrong bronco in the name of zoning.

What is all this nonsense about Jonathan being able to contest TO HELL with PDP zoning! any Nigerian born citizen with the proper merits should have the power to run for President. This zoning thing is unconstitutional.

How can a man be denied his rights just because of ethnicity!?

People of Nigeria open your eyes! shocked
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by odumchi: 6:20am On Aug 13, 2010
If zoning is not eliminated, it is best for Nigeria to split. Then the Hausas can zone themselves if they like one year Nigerian Hausas lead the next they import some from Niger cheesy

what Jonathan needs to do is to ensure and organise a very credible election devoid of manipulation, then he or anybody can become president, even the igbos or calabar -anybody at all.

the only reason we think along with them is because we know our vote dint count, if it does, who are they to decide who win or lose.
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by ud4u: 11:32am On Aug 13, 2010
So PDP has concluded every arrangement to win !!!, they are not even considering other political parties in the country and that was why they made sure that two party system did not work so that they will not have strong opposition.

This country's leadership don tire me oohhhh, nevertheless I still support Jonathan for now, if not for any other thing at least for improvement in the power supply and constant availability of pump products.

THis is d deathknell for jonathan's ambition.d powers dat be in Nigerian politics (the 28 PDP governors ) hav already made up dia minds dey dont want Jonathan, else the PDP NEC could never hav come to such a ridiculous doublefaced resolution-we retain zoning, but GEJ can contest.d governors control PDP NEC and they had every power to say the PDP has chosen GEJ as consensus candditate or dumped zoning.they didnt, but had to settle for middle ground just so as to give demselves a chance at second terms or senatorial ambitions.they know they cannot come out outrightly to tell Jonathan he cannot contest, yet they cannot say they have dumped zoning, so they were between the devil and the deep blue sea.they had to setle on zoning but dat Jonathan can contest.dat way they will not enter into GEJ's badbooks and risk EFCC hounding when they want to go for their own elections. with this GEJ will know he will be embarrased at eagles square when the pdp preseidential primaries come up (it is at eagles square abuja dat Nigeria's next preseident will emerge and not during the april elections. they will tell him to go ahead, once dat day comes, all dia delegates will queue up behind dia chosen candidate. if that candidae is not GEJ (and the PDP NEC has just confirmed dat) then he will be embarrased at the vote coun that day(we will alll be watching everything on national television anyway). By then it will be too late for GEJ to unleash EFCC or ICPC on them as payback. they'l have had their last laugh. diz governors are just decieving GEJ, and am sure he knows. they are the only kingmakers in Nigeria right now, and it is wat they say that counts.once they have GEJ out, they'l move against NWodo too.GEJ is threading on banana peels

Who is the leader of this PDP thing anyway? If you ask me, i think it is time for someone to knock some sense into his head.

Nigeria has been around for 50years but yet we have had only one LEGIT igbo leader (Namdi Azikiwe). The northerners dislike us and we have petitioned to leave the country but they wont allow us, why??

If Nigeria loses 30million ppl wont they still be the GIANT?

everybody wants to seclude igbos from power but they want us to stay in the country? northerners think we can be herded

Nobody really cares if the Igbos leave Nigeria, as long as they leave alone.

The truth is that their earlier attempt to leave Nigeria in 1966 was driven by their greed after loosing power due to what they started: the January 1966 coup in which Northern Dignitaries where assassinated while Igbo dignitaries where all spared, Azikiwe was the Governor General and in all accounts the Head of the Nigerian state, he was spared, Agu Ironsi was the head of the Nigerian Military, he was spared.

A coup which by default took over power from the political class and handed it over to an Igbo man; Agu Ironsi. Who proceeded to turn a Regional system (4 regions) into a unitary state in-order to consolidate power with the Igbos. It may also be worthy to note that Ojukwu was appointed the Governor of Northern Nigeria based in Kano under the Agu Ironsi Regime.

During the Igbo planned secession which was only after a counter coup took power away from them, if the Igbos had decided to leave alone they would have had their Biafra peacefully, but they chose to greedily drag the Niger delta region along with them without their consultation and consent. Even though they were treated as third class citizens with much discrimination while they were part of Eastern Nigeria.

I am tired of reading about Igbo's complaining and distorting history on every forum; the problem of the Igbo is the Igbo and their greed and calousness

If you r educated and rely on facts, u would have noticed that the facts herein r irrefutable. Public records still show who held what position, those responsible for the coup, the punishment and benefits they gained after the coup, who held what position etc.

As painful as this reality may sound, sooner or later someone had to point it out to you, cause your ilk always turn any national discuss to an ethnic one

Typical of a misinformed tribalist, when facts are presented rather than address the issues or proffer a superior evidence they attack the writer.

The issue on the thread is about Jonathan contesting, which I can't understand how that was converted to your brother talking about Igbo Victimisation; sure that is what my response dealt with

Its so obvious that this country is heading straight to Perdition. Illiteracy is the principal cause. Maybe, democracy does not suit our circumstance, the so called masses do not realize their collective powers!
Re: Pdp Says Jonathan Can Contest by chuqudy(m): 9:22pm On Aug 14, 2010
Everyone has the right to contest. I do not need anyone to tell me my right as a citizen of my country. It is only a lazy and feeble mind that can accomodate the theory of zoning. Instead of zoning, the country should be divided and et every zone go and rule themselves.

President Goodluck Jonathan, as his name implies, has always been lucky. He has never struggled for any position. He is not going to do so now. The people are already asking him to contest the Presidential Elections. The voice of the people is the voice of God. I know President Jonathan is God sent. Not all the Ibb's can stop God's plan for Nigeria. Ibb please step aside once more, and continue to step aside for the rest of your life. NAJALYN
