Frame-up At Work Place_____ True Story by IkennaDavid1(m): 2:57am On Jan 18, 2019
To all fellow Nairalanders reading this post, your advice, inputs or suggestions highly needed and would be greatly appreciated as its going to help a fellow nairalander who was framed ur in his wokplace determine his next step of action in life.
To start with D(name of nairalander) graduated from a federal university in Nigeria with a first class degree since 2012 but had a hard time getting any job and after job hunting for a while, he decided to take up some under-paying job as a secondary school teacher to save up money for his Masters degree.
After about a year into his MSc programme he became out of cash as his savings got depleted and since he is not from a well-to-do family, he had to take up another job while still schooling to offset his bills. He got a job with a growing company and was able to rise to become the manager of one of their branches, although with a poor salary of 35k.
The job paid off and he was able to offset his fees and bills from his earnings but towards the end of his programme he observed some of the workers were stealing from the company and he reported the matter to the GM but since their was no one was caught, the GM promised to look into the matter.
After about a month the rate of stealing increased up to a point that after his recordings, he discovered that almost 1 million naira was missing from the company. He reported to the GM again and this time the GM plotted a trap to catch the culprit(s). Eventually the trap snapped and someone was caught, the GM reported to the Director and the Director ordered the matter to be reported to the police for further investigation.
The culprit was arrested and following police interrogations, she started making statements that indicted some other persons including D probably under duress. The following day, D who is the branch manager and the one who discovered the theft and reported was arrested by the police and the other persons who were indicted too with him.
On getting to the police station the matter got twisted to a point that D had to sleep in the police cell and was eventually bailed with a sum far higher than that used in bailing the caught thief. Following police investigations, they found nothing on D and resorted to rope him in further with a statement that "he is the MANAGER and as such his eyes should be everywhere" so "he was the one that gave the chance for other workers to steal from the company". They finally resolved that all the people indicted are going to pay for the missing sum depending on their levels of involvement and evidence found on them.
On the day the agreement was to be signed the police not said D would have to pay 50% of the missing sum which translates to about half a million while the others who stole should pay the rest. When he asked why the police said its because " he is the Manager". He tried to protest further but he knew he would be thrown back into the cell so he yielded. One of the police men made an awkward statement that the company's director was the one who asked them to share it like that, so it isn't their fault. On how the money would be paid, they said they are going to be cutting out 20k every month from D's salary until the amount is fully paid and that translates to 22months.
Right now he is suffering from depression owing to the fact that he couldnt get a good job even after graduating with an exellent result and also knowing that he will have to slave for another 22 months for nothing.
Pls he really needs ur advice, suggestions or inputs as the case may be before something bad happens to him.

Thanks in anticipation.

Also pls the MODs should move this to front page so as to generate more view and inputs. Thanks
