It's popularly known that an average African man is afraid of himself not to talk of his siblings or lovers. Because of this, most people keep their asset as a secret away from their wife/husband/siblings/parent etc. If any negativity happens to individual such as death, loss of memory etc, an asset that is not known by anyone save him cannot be accessed. Even Banks in Nigeria are known to inherit billions yearly from dead people's account that no one claims.

Digital assets such as crypto (bitcoin and alts), digital currencies (paypal, payoneer, skrill, neteller etc) are the worst because they have no physical presence.

Let's share our knowledge here about how individual ensure his treasure is not lost after his demise or other disability that may affect his mental health.

Quite interesting. Same thing has crossed my mind some long time ago. Especially with these modern (personally, I think, better) digi wallet and Cryptos.

One temporary solution is storing the passwords to these e-wallets either online (e.g. email) or offline (on PC preferably).

There should at least be a family member that can "recover" these passwords somehow, if something goes amiss. So, just let them know.... Still risky tho... I await further suggestions..

I found a book on Amazon on this topic.

That book is very comprehensive. I'll find the direct link to the book and paste it here later.

Write a Will.

It's very important to do that as in the document details about secret properties are detailed for beneficiaries. A will can be written by anyone but it is advisable to employ the services of a lawyer so that there will no contravention of the laws governing the Making of wills.

I don't know lawyers deal with login details of e-asset of their clients. can such be written in a will too? won't the lawyer compromise and defraud the client? note that online account is already vulnerable to hack, so it's plausible to act ignorant about the fraud

Yes! Lawyers can deal with the e-assets of their clients. Yes! Such details can be written in a will. On the area of lawyers defrauding their clients, all I can say is that lawyers are one of the most trustworthy people on Earth but should the devil use any lawyer, there are disciplinary bodies ready to investigate and punish the errant lawyer if proved.

If you go through the law reports, you see cases of lawyers being disbarred for conducts like you just stated.

PS: I handled a will job for a client some months ago. In the will the login details to the clients blockchain accounts and ATM pins were included. It's all about trust in your lawyer and his professionalism.

How about detailing all your assets and how it can be accessed, place in a safe vault and tell only your most trusted person.

I have seen cases where a man dies and the family is suffering not knowing he had millions is a secret account.
