A driver was crushed to death by his own truck after trying to avert what would have been a tragic accident in Edo state. 

According to reports, the ghastly accident took place earlier today in front of a hostel at Auchi polytechnic in Edo.

It was gathered that the fully loaded truck failed brake and as a result of that, the brave driver decided to use reverse in order to avoid hitting other smaller vehicles.

He succeeded in keeping everybody safe but at the time he wanted to jump out of the falling truck, it was to late as the truck fell on him which lead to his death.

The incident attracted a crowd of sympathizers who gathered at the accident scene.

Well, if I was one of the people whose death was averted by his self-sacrificing action, I would be very very thankful and grateful. In saner climes, we would gather and assist with burial and or assist his family in some small way.
