It was gathered that some US officials came hard on Buhari and Osibanjo last-minute struggle to get votes of Nigerians angered by Buhari's anti-people policies and sheer cluelessness on how to grow the economy and protect Nigerians from killers. What dominates the criticism is Osibanjo vote-buying scheme he tagged "tradermoni". They wonder why Osibanjo will be sharing money few weeks to the election and asking people details of their PVCs. The opposition parties have been asked to reject the outcome of the election if it doesn't favour them on the account that it has been "pre-rigged". US promises to recognize the opposition if the election is not free and fair.

Wailer can never stop wailing

This isn't Osinbajo's problem but that of the National Assembly. The Tradermoni was put in the 2018 budget and was approved by the National Assembly. The time it was not voters buying, now that the FG is religiously executing it, it has become voters buying. It is either the US is still suffering from its Russian rigged election and recent partial government shutdown or the PDP which blindly approved the Tradermoni is mad because they expect the money to be shared among the looting elites as being done over the years.
