Abba community should have died down this matter following the leading judgement of the highly learned Obiora Nwazota (Justice) 1999. Abba community as a whole are tenants to Umu Dunukofia given that the land called Abba was given to Abamulu, a wine tapper, from Ichida who was hired by Ifite (Dunu) to settle and tap wine for the community 350 years ago. Dunukofia children are contiguous to one another, that is, they live within common borders following the way their father Dunu shared his estate to them with Ukpo as the first son, Ifite, Umudioka, Umunnachi and Ukwulu in that hierarchical order. Abba town is geographically in the centre of these five brothers denoting their status as a guest of these sibblings. Abba kept quiet and stayed away for four years after Dunukofia won the case. They did that cos they knew they were trespassers and tenants. 1 Like |
