I'm Back Again - Everyone Get In Here! by HardGuyHardGuy: 6:51pm On Feb 27, 2019
Okay!
It's been over a month since I logged on to nairaland and I can see that lots have happened.
Well, I'm back with a question for the theists.
I'll talk more on the Christian side because that's where I transitioned from.

What I want to talk about today is the book of
Eccl. 12:8 which says "Vanity of vanity, says the Preacher; all is vanity".
I also wanna add
Matthew 6:19 and 20 which says "19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal".

These passages clearly states that Christians shouldn't acquire wealth.
But what I see in Christians is the opposite.
They are always interested in acquiring wealth. They are so obsessed with money.

Let's take a look at their "gee ho*s." They fly in private jets, luxurious cars, big mansions, low-key live in luxury. Now, let's talk about their members, many people who live luxurious lives are Christians, CEO of different companies who are always eager to create more companies to make more money and live the "big man" lives.

What baffles me the most is that these people are not ready to help their fellow human, they only care about themselves, many don't even help their extended families. Even if they want to help people, they don't even give up to 5% of what they have to the needy.

There's even this my "hardcore Christian" female co-worker who was asking me if Lawyers earn huge salary just because a lawyer was "toasting" her. I was like, damn!

Since your god said you shouldn't acquire treasures here on earth, that they are all vanities. He has promised you riches in heaven, a land with streets of gold. Why do you guys acquire all these things.

Just leave them for we atheists that don't have riches waiting for us in heaven. You should even share the ones you have sef, I can send my account details XD XD XD

Sometimes, I even feel all these "gee hoes" are atheists who just wanna feed on the insanity of theists (confirm business, you don't even pay taxes XD XD)

What I have to say about the Muslims is that
"I heard" you guys are promised 7 virgins in heaven, why not leave these Virgins to bleep here on hearth name, since we don't have 7 Virgins waiting for us in heaven XD XD XD

Abraham was a Friend of God, yet he was rich.

There are rich children of God.

Riches is dangerous, yes. But for a true son of God who has been trained in humility, sacrifice and love,

Riches cannot corrupt him. Money controls a lot of people.... a child of God controls money instead.

The rich guy told Jesus that he had kept all the commandments of God.... Jesus told him to sell all his properties and give them to the poor and follow him.

He went away from Jesus sorrowful.

If Abraham can offer to use his son as a sacrifice for God,

He can as well pass the test Jesus gave to that rich guy. Abraham would sell all his properties and follow God...

Job lost all and he followed God...

It is not bad for a child of God to be rich " If the money is not his God"

The moment money becomes the God of a Christian, he is finished.

Let me drop a shocker.... God can give money to a man to punish him, while he withholds wealth from his own....

...until they are "fit " to handle it.

People hardly realize these things and fall for the subtle trap of money. To the undiscerning mind, the above is like a call to avoid money but money being what answers to all things, is what the devil uses to entrap most. They erroneously assume more money is always better but to God more charity as money grows is better. Less trust in riches and more faith ( trust ) in God is better.

At the bold part I stopped reading. If God says Christians shouldn't acquire wealth then what should Christians eat, wear, and use?

God is talking about the virtue that answers to wealth and not wealth itself. To understand that second scripture passage, ask yourself, do the spend money in heaven? No.
It is talking about your riches as a spiritual being. it means you should labour not to have reserve in the physical but have reserve in heaven ( spiritually ) and follow Jesus. Then all you need can be met. Notice I said need and not wants.

This has not answered my question

Why do you acquire wealth when you have enough in heaven
I gave examples of what I mean yet you didn't say anything on them.

P.S your god does not give or withhold money

What I was saying is that children of God can have wealth.... It is their birthright because silver and gold belong to God...

However, we should not allow money to control us... We should be ready to forsake all for him when asked.

My God is the owner of silver and gold.

The question here is that of a JSS business studies class. If Christians don't think of acquiring (saving up) or laying wealth somewhere how are they ever going to build factories, and capital intensive ventures? can a factory be built with a months salary?

One of the key strategy of the devil is the attack of the finance of the saint and that was highlighted in Mathew 13:22 where the gospel of Jesus is received but the cares of this life ( mostly money ) chokes the word.
This is why the devil will always attack the finance of saints/church.

Your question here is like asking Bill Gates why he works so hard when he is has so much? He needs his money to keep flowing in big time because he has plans for big things. How will a Christian ever own a medium sized factory if he doesn't acquire wealth?
As for the question of why acquire wealth when saints have it in heaven, can the one in heaven be used to do. charity on earth? Use what God gave you now.

Even the scripture you quoted tell us the riches in heaven can't be eaten up by moth or corrupted so your question is baseless.

Read and stop arguing like a baby high on something.
where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.

You should notice that I mentioned that they shouldn't acquire it for their selfish needs, they should give almost all they have to those in need.

Are they not building the factories for their self benefit alone? Please don't mention that the workers also benefit from it.

I'm talking about acquiring wealth for their selfish needs to acquire luxury.

Please don't quote me if you can't bring out points from the example I stated. Your points are baseless without them.

Wow! I never knew Bill Gates is now a Christian grin grin grin

The reasons Christians build factories is further selfish needs alone

Last time I checked, Bill Gates gives the most to the needy. "I heard" he also plans to give all his wealth to charity (something your gee ho*s can't do)

I think the long delay in the arrival of the so called messiah has caused Christians to unconsciously act as if they no longer believe he is coming.
