It is mainly the fault of we "parents" as we're always rushing. Any school that include the Basic 6 in their academics will be greatly avoided by the parents. In so many cases the Basic 6 always being left-over do tell when you see the children. (AK)3. |

I think we are using 4-4-2 formation 4 at the back and 4 as midfielders then 2 attackers to win trophies this is best formation to use. lol 3 Likes 1 Share |

These days parents want to include the achievements of their children in their own CV-----JAMB registrar. People rush their children education for no reason whatsoever. 1 Like |

amani337:The problem is caused by assuu and parents. Since assuu started their traditional strike system by making children to graduate for their first degree at the age of 30 parents try to beat them by making the pupil to enter higher institution as early as possible. The parents try to shave off some years and in the process number of students in pr6 and jss3 are always depleted so the schools who are bent on making as much profit as possible kukuma remove them. I for one found out that it is very educationally dangerous to skip a child through any class. I nearly killed my son when I thought he could Skip ordinary nursery3. The guy becone miserable in class, was marinating in confusion and could not derive any joy in going to school until I stepped him back in primary 3 and he returned to being the star he initially was. The poor implementation of the 6-3-3-4 system is really a cancer eating away true knowledge in our educational system. 1 Like 1 Share |

It's not how far but how well. I wouldn't have a problem with shortening if it were helpful. The only thing that annoys me about the thing is how mediocrity now rules Nigerian education. Children never fail and repeat classes anymore. Even the ones who have no idea what is happening, are told that they have passed. These days, there are JSS 1 students who cannot even write their own names properly. Nigerian education system worsens with each dusk and subsequent dawn. I fear for the future of Nigeria. 2 Likes |

femi4:Speak for yourself, many schools are unable to finish their SS calendar in 3 years and you want it shortened to 2 years? If I may ask, where are the kids running to? The essence of education is to gain knowledge and not to set a record of who graduates at the youngest age.. I've seen kids who were forced to repeat the year by parents and they ended up becoming the best in their subsequent classes because of that singular act.. NO Knowledge is wasted and if you have to spend two years extra to be well grounded,I as a parent would not hesitate to have my children spend the full allotted years for their education.. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ozkar:You are very correct. If not for online job portals some graduates can't even fill hard copy job application forms on their own. Imagine an engineering student (graduate) don't know and/or can't quantify metric and imperial systems but expect to be employed within the next one year on completion of his nysc. 1 Like |

Osun state has changed from the 6-3-3-4 system to a system that states a Nine year Elementary Education, a Three year higher secondary Education and a Four year tertiary Education. Basically, the school system has been classified into Elementary, Middle and higher school. they come each with different objectives. 6-3-3-4 system of education is now old. it should be looked into across the states. |
